As to why or how, again, perhaps this is due to the nature of GWENT and trying to balance difficulty once the sheer variety and number of competing strategies and decks come into play. Whatever the reasons though no doubt it comes from creating an RPG story-driven game unlike anything else out there. One that features one of the best interactive bits of fiction this side of The Witcher III – with a flawed, interesting, and awe-inspiring protagonist in the form of Meve. No doubt, we can't wait to check out the next Witcher Tale.

8.5 / 10.0 - Cyberpunk 2077
Feb 22, 2022

Cyberpunk 2077's long-awaited next-gen console update is here, and the extended wait looks to have been worth it. The Performance Mode corrects all of the poor frame-rate issues in one fell swoop, not to mention the several thousand bug fixes that 14-months and change can bring. There's even some new stuff to discover, from the ability to purchase/rent apartments to an overhaul of enemy AI. As a reboot of sorts it's by no means perfect, but it's now a great foundation on which to deliver more Night City stories.

8.5 / 10.0 - RiME

By design the game portion comes first, providing an evocative experience where discovery feels earned and the pacing is spot on. The meaning comes later, at the very end in fact, but in a way that enhances everything that has comes before it. And in the process, leaves both a lasting impression and a cathartic sense of closure once you solve the biggest puzzle in the game -- its meaning.

Planet Alpha may not quite have the mechanics to match the sheer variety and wonder of its beauty, but close-enough means that it's one of the most surprising and wonderful slices of sci-fi we've seen this year.
