Metal Gear Solid V Phantom Pain is an interactive piece of art that truly pays homage to the original game and successfully expands the franchise into an open-world game. The gaming mechanics are flawless as are the beautiful graphics that go hand in hand with the gameplay and audio. Game of the Year hey? Well… it's a close fight between this title and the Witcher III and given there are only a few months left, I sincerely doubt another game will come close.

Forza Horizon 3 is not just a racing game but it’s an experience and Playground Games have for now delivered the perfect car game for Xbox One and Windows 10 PC’s. It’s graphically amazing, boasts perfect in-game mechanics and overall, the single-player and multiplayer components work on all levels! Yes, it’s pretty much perfect with a great open-world illusion set in beautiful Australia and the only thing is missing, is that smell of rubber!

It's great that Playground Games have not rested on their laurels but have created a game that not only looks amazing but more importantly plays well on the Xbox One/X. The gameplay mechanics work well and whether you're playing this online or offline, there's plenty to do and see. Given how much fun I've had with Forza Horizon 4, it will definitely become my go to game in the months to come, especially with its online component. So if you're looking for some racing fun that packs a punch, Forza Horizon 4 is definitely that game!

Horizon: Forbidden West is an enjoyable game from start to finish which easily allows you to become lost in its virtual mythology. The gameplay, sound and graphics work hand-in-hand to create an engaging PS5 title. It's also well-written and directed by the developers with fantastic voice acting and a soundtrack that sounds it has been taken from a Hollywood blockbuster which makes this game a masterpiece on the PlayStation 5 and a must play game… no, masterpiece of 2022!

The only slight downfall to the game is the slightly repetitive nature of the gameplay but the overall enjoyment factor far outweighs this (especially with the unpredictable nature of the game like Space Outlaws) and at the end of your gaming day, you can walk away with a big smile on your face and then you can take it to a whole new level with all the modular toys available as toy truly meets game.

I thoroughly enjoyed A Plague Tale: Innocence from start to finish and cannot fault this title at all. While the gameplay is fluid that is accompanied by excellent graphics and audio, where A Plague Tale – Innocence shines is with its characters and the way it tells their story. So if you're upset at how Game of Thrones ended and need a story that is told correctly, A Plague Tale – Innocence does that flawlessly.

4.9 / 5.0 - The Outer Worlds

Although a crazy YouTuber has apparently completed this game in 25-minutes by just running, to really enjoy the atmosphere and gameplay, it will take around 30 hours to successfully complete that will allow you to not only immerse yourself in it but enjoy it. The game also gives you a nice recap at the end that serves as motivation for another play in order to see different endings.

4.8 / 5.0 - Horizon Zero Dawn
Mar 11, 2017

There’s been much hype surrounding Horizon Zero Dawn and thankfully it has delivered in more ways than one. It boasts a very likeable and interesting protagonist and the story behind Horizon Zero Dawn is one that is filled with mystery and intrigue. Of course, it’s all about the gameplay and Guerrilla should be commended in creating such a fluid and dynamic game as you explore this post-apocalyptic world 1000 years in the future that is filled with different cultures and even history which seems so real. Combat is fun and the missions are diverse and at the end of the day, Horizon Zero Dawn is a title that really raises the benchmark on the PlayStation 4.

The Last of Us Part 1 on the PS5 was a joy to revisit and while not a new game, it feels familiar yet different and the highlight for me were the amazing visuals on this next-gen console, including the wonderful soundtrack and spectacular voice acting. This is a true interactive movie and both fans and newcomers will enjoy the story of Joel and Ellie as they explore this decimated world that is now brimming with even more emotion. Again, aming doesn't get any better than this!

4.8 / 5.0 - Overwatch

At times Overwatch does feel like an old school multiplayer shooter but Blizzard has a knack of taking something classic and making it better. The gameplay is fun, the characters are diverse and really make you think, especially when their your enemy!

In conclusion, LEGO Marvel Super Heroes is easily the best LEGO game on any console that not only pays homage to the world of Marvel superheroes but boasts great gameplay that can be enjoyed by both adults and kids. Brilliant level design, great replay value, gaming doesn't get any better than this on the PS4. However hopefully next time, they can include online multiplayer.

4.7 / 5.0 - Until Dawn
Aug 27, 2015

Until Dawn may have gone through some development problems and lengthy delays but after completing this title twice, I can safely say that the wait was worth it. It's also one of those games that heavily focuses on storytelling and even though the gamplay does take a back seat, the interactive plot is equally as satisfying. All in all, Until Dawn puts the player into the world the unknown which makes your choices a very hard chore that will leave you with mixed emotions when you "think" you've made the wrong decision. Until Dawn is the perfect interactive medium on the PlayStation 4 that succeeds at drawing you into your own personal horror story.

In the end, The Witcher 3 Blood and Wine is a worthy addition to this franchise that once again makes you appreciate what an amazing game CD Projekt has created. Unlike many games that feature a static world or those that use smoke and mirrors, The Witcher 3 is quite dynamic and it feels like a living breathing universe and Blood and Wine really expands on this.

4.6 / 5.0 - Mortal Kombat X
Apr 19, 2015

Mortal Kombat X takes this franchise to totally new levels of entertainment with amazing next-gen graphics and revamped gameplay that truly separates this current game from its predecessors. Add in a great story mode with depth plus some really fun online gameplay and Mortal Kombat X for me is one of the best fighters in a long time, especially with those brutal finishing moves which is also the reason this game deserves a much needed R18+ rating. Needless to say, Mortal Kombat X is bordering on perfection!

If you missed Gears of War the first time around and own an XBox One then I could happily recommend the admission price into this franchise and best of all, it's loaded with content and entertaining gameplay. This also means that players will be able to download the original Xbox 360 games on their next-gen console (November 2015) plus get unprecedented access to the beta of Gears of War 4.
