Feel, play, and win like the NBA superstar you always dreamed you were!
Out of Line is not a long game. It could be finished in around 3 hours, but it is still very enjoyable to play. The puzzles are not overly complicated but are challenging enough and the story that unfolds is unique and charming. Overall, I would say the value for money is great and I would definitely recommend it. It is a perfect game to pick up and casually play when you need a break from the real world.
Think Bruce Willis from Die Hard being thrown into The Walking Dead during Christmas time and voila you have Dead Rising 4. The fourth addition of this open-world action packed game is the most zombie filled yet but don’t feel like you need to have played its predecessors to enjoy this one. With optional tutorials getting you through the basics you will quickly find yourself becoming distracted finding new and better ways to kill zombies before you realise that you have forgotten about the main storyline. So please excuse me, I have to return to humming Christmas tunes while I kill some more zombies!
A Tale of Paper: Refolded, is a beautifully illustrated game with a unique storyline. Although it is a little on the short side (game time wise), it is still really engaging, quirky, and not too difficult to solve. If you enjoy games like Limbo and Little Nightmares, then this game is definitely one for you to check out!
A lot of effort went into creating the content for the game and it is really impressive. I wish there was more room to make more of your own deductions, but that isn’t the nature of Orwell. After playing the first three episodes, I am hooked and cannot wait to play the next two. It’s simple but fun with unexpected twists along the way. There are four episodes now out on Steam, but remember your every move is being watched…
Providing a complete NBA experience, NBA2K21 accurately captures and then places you center stage of everything that makes NBA basketball great. The music, the sounds, the energy, the hype, and most importantly the gameplay, this sports sim provides fans of the game the complete experience. With detailed controls and dynamic gameplay which mimics the game's best players, you, the player, can play out your hoop dreams on the world's biggest stage. Just mind your step on the microtransactions on your path to glory.
Ninja Pizza Girl will tug on your emotions as it delivers a strong powerful message about adversity and positivity. It may be a simple and short game but it will leave you wanting to replay each level to see if you can beat your existing times, grab more collectables and find alternative paths to finish each level. Sounds good? Give it a go!
The Superhero context and Civil War setting between rival superheroes is excellent and I especially liked how there are modern references to online and social media. And while the game presents a slick RPG experience, dynamic combat, and plenty to explore and do, the focus on more generic fart jokes and lack of depth of South Park ‘history' jokes leaves the game feeling more video game generic, and less South Park specific.
The kitchen chaos of 'Overcooked 2' is a must do experience for any Nintendo Switch owner (and their friends). There are some nice upgrades from the original and the gameplay, varied kitchen design and change from level to level make it a truly fun and engaging experience. The difficulty is ever present, and there are some really rewarding experiences when you finally earn that 3rd star on some of the later levels. This game is best played on the couch with friends and it should be a part of everyones Nintendo Switch owners catalogue.
With a quirky premise, Automachef provides a unique take on the puzzle genre for gamers. For the stubborn puzzle lovers among us this unique puzzle experience is great. With a thin tutorial you are quickly left with only your brain to solve each challenge, and I loved that. You will click, rotate, add, delete, move and work your way through the ever increasing difficulty of each programming and creation challenge, to finally created automated nirvana. Just don't forget your smart robot arm.
The simplicity of controls and navigation in Minecraft would suggest that it is geared more towards children but with iconic 80s film references and dry humor it can be fun for adults too. If you are looking for a game full of puzzles and where your choices will make a dramatic impact to the outcome of the game, then this isn't for you. But if you like the idea of a playable television game – you have come to the right place. The humour for the older generation and the story and gameplay for the smaller ones makes this a great one to play with your children, nieces and nephews too.
Memoranda is a unique and interesting game. There is something both beautiful and sad to this story which draws you into its surreal world. With over 30 different characters and locations there is plenty to explore, and I definitely enjoyed it the more I played it. However, just make sure you have a pen and paper handy for those puzzles!
An educational way to explore the deep blue sea at your own pace.
Little Nightmares is a great adventure horror game that had me jumping me from start to finish. Although gameplay is not as long, it was the puzzles and challenges combined with the amazing illustrations that made this game worth playing (once you got over the long loading times and the fact that you may die very few minutes).
Dripping with Mario styled graphic colours, and featuring all of Mario's favourite friends and foes in typically Mario styled settings, Mario Tennis Aces is an extremely fun arcade tennis experience for both the serious and not so serious among us. Solid tennis mechanics underneath a playful and entertaining surface means that this will quickly become a fan favourite when friends come around. While the simple single-player mode is somewhat varied, the lack of depth will eventually find the game running out of steam. But the frantic tennis fun with friends makes this a must have title for any Nintendo Switch owner.
Gameplay is a bit on the short side but it is still a great game to pick up and play while you are travelling or on holiday. It will really make you sit and think because the majority of the puzzles are not easy but you will feel a sense of accomplishment when you finally solve them.
If you are a fan of classic point-and-click adventure games (like I am) then you will love playing Unforeseen Incidents. It does a great job of balancing the storyline and the puzzles, has a great sense of light-hearted humor and fully immerses you into the game.
The controls are fairly simple, and the experience is a good challenge, which will require you to engage. You never lose your progress (as there is no absolute death), and when you lose (or flee) combat, you can return to your latest home point. It is challenging but not punishing, which provides a balance which suits the overall style of mystery. I like the unique experience that Tenderfoot Tactics offers the player. The dreamy, eerie, and etheric world is well formed and encourages a dream like meander through the space. The enchanting visuals are the hero of the game which makes the world well worth the exploration.
The Walking Dead: A New Frontier is starting to climb my list of favourites from Telltale games, and for fans of this genre I would definitely recommend it. There are a few fantastic “oh crap did that just happen?” moments which I wasn’t expecting and I am eager to find out what happens next. Although it is a little frustrating not knowing the release date of the next episode.
Star Wars Pinball: Rogue One is easily addictive but at the same time (for me) easily frustrating as I lacked the patience and precision to make it all the way to the end. Progressing in difficulty as you go through the story mode, this would be a good game for anyone up for a challenge and has a love for casual pinball games.
