8.5 / 10.0 - 12 Minutes
Aug 18, 2021

When Twelve Minutes is firing on all cylinders it will pull you along with its dark and twisted story. The performances from the cast are memorable, varied, and hold weight. It’s an easy recommendation for fans of strong narrative, point-and-click adventure games, or people who just love indies.

8.5 / 10.0 - Lost Judgment
Sep 16, 2021

Even though the actual detective parts don’t always hold up, the city, combat, story, and soundtrack all work together beautifully. Lost Judgment is an excellent package filled with noir mystery and a stellar cast. It’s worth making time for if you’re a fan of the first one, and if you’ve never played the series before, it’s a great place to hop in.

A wise man once said, “Keep rollin, rollin, rollin, rollin (come on),” and I think that’s just what I’m going to do.

Like a Dragon Gaiden uses brevity to tell an important in-between chapter in Kazama Kiryu's life. Gaiden is the penultimate chapter before The Dragon of Dojima is fully unleashed in Like A Dragon: Infinite Wealth.

While there is a lot to love in Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth, it left me disappointed in its main narrative. I wish it was more focused on telling the story set out in Remake and its constant need to push the kitchen sink into each plot beat wore on my resolve throughout the game.

NHL 19 stands strong with the other EA Sports offerings this year. Its inclusion of a myriad of different modes and customization add a depth that past installments were missing. Whether you play NHL for its online competitive nature, or you just like to play against your friends on the couch, NHL 19 is a great pickup for any fan of hockey.

In its first week it has already made great strides to show the industry there is a space for new battle royale games to thrive if you do it right. Apex Legends is an incredibly intuitive and well-thought-out battle royale game that is worth trying out for yourself.

4 / 5.0 - My Friend Pedro
Jun 20, 2019

My Friend Pedro is an excellent pickup that justifies the price. If you’re looking for an action game similar to the absurd action of games like John Woo’s Stranglehold, this is an easy recommendation.

Overall Darksiders Genesis pulls off the change in perspective. It feels like a true to form Darksiders game and should not be skipped by any fan of the series.

Subject 2923 stumbles in a few spots but overall does an excellent job of wrapping up the story of Remnant: From the Ashes and offers a short but sweet conclusion for the survivors of Earth.

Ultimately, that’s what I enjoyed the most from the game, the vibes, and if you’re a fan of the Guardians franchise, the game does enough to distinguish itself from other iterations of these characters.

I continue to play Sunbreak because the bones of Monster Hunter Rise are so good, but not because it’s packed wall to wall with new content. It’s a serviceable reason to hop back in, and you’ll find some surprises along the way. The new monsters that are there are some of the best, there just simply aren’t enough of them.

8 / 10.0 - Cult of the Lamb
Aug 10, 2022

While Cult of the Lamb doesn’t always feel cohesive, it’s an enjoyable 10-hour ride. Give it a shot if you’re looking for a game with a striking art style and unique mechanics. Your followers are waiting to be indoctrinated.

I enjoyed my time with the game but felt like I walked away with very little to chew on. The work done to bring this game to life is tremendous. Reworked music, visuals, and combat make it the definitive way to experience Crisis Core. Do you need to experience Crisis Core? Your mileage may vary.

Like a Dragon: Ishin! is a great adventure through samurai-era Japan and one that I’m glad I took. It feels like an almost compelling story, and I got to take it alongside my best friends, Kazuma Kiryu and Goro Majima.

7.5 / 10.0 - Watch Dogs: Legion

Watch Dogs: Legion feels like a culmination of lessons learned in open-world games of the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One era. It’s certainly a nice send-off for this generation of consoles and is an easy recommendation for any fans of the series, or open-world games in general.

7.5 / 10.0 - Forspoken

3.5 / 5.0 - Anthem
Feb 22, 2019

The controls of Anthem are intuitive and engaging. Flying through the world of Bastion is a sight to behold, and coordinating with your team on higher difficulties like Grandmaster is rewarding. Despite some questionable design choices and shortcomings, Anthem has a strong foundation that has potential to be a genre leader, but isn't quite there just yet.
