Dragon Ball FighterZ balances very well style and concept. It's an easy game for newcomers, but has room for experts in the genre to develop advanced skills. This may be the very best Dragon Ball fighting game to date because it captures, aesthetically and mechanically, the core and most enjoyable aspects of the series that fans have enjoyed for decades.

8.8 / 10.0 - Forza Horizon 4
Oct 17, 2018

Playground Games newest addition to the open world racing genre is everything you can expect from a game that belongs to the Forza family. It's easy to learn due its granular design, yet it provides deep tuning tools for the connoisseur. Despite its numerous and solid online systems that feeds its communities, the series feels like it has forgotten its competitive roots. Despite this, Forza Horizon 4 invites you to take part in its copious amenities and, in the end, the experience feels like your own, as long as you do not demand too much from the multiplayer.

Although controversial, the decision to swap the singleplayer campaign for a popular and alien game mode shows a complete evolution in the franchise as it consolidates as one of the freshest installments in the series. Call of Duty: Black Ops 4 has the real potential to make jaded veterans return to a game that feels different, fair and requires skill and, at the same time, is supported by two gigantic modes that are addictive and fun to play.

Red Dead Redemption 2 is technically impressive; a well-made game and a visual jewel polished to the smallest detail: a masterpiece in every way. By showing excellent writing and storytelling, developed character and plots, and a full array of activities, it stands one of the best open worlds to date. Rockstar Games once again stands as the creator of the most successful and influential works in the medium of interactive entertainment. Probably, we are facing the best game made by Rockstar Games.

9 / 10.0 - Battlefield V
Dec 6, 2018

Despite all the controversies surrounding the announcement, Battlefield V continues to be a force of nature with his unique take on multiplayer that fans have come to love. With one of the best gunplay feelings in the franchise and an emotive single-player component, Battlefield V is a safe bet for veterans of the series and FPS enthusiasts.

9.3 / 10.0 - Resident Evil 2
Jan 25, 2019

With great pacing and respect for the source material, Resident Evil 2 is a game that keeps you on the edge of the seat. This time, Capcom's achievement is taking a classic and turning it into an immortal jewel.

8.8 / 10.0 - Metro Exodus
Feb 14, 2019

Metro: Exodus is a good example of how a series can left behind some of its core ideas and still deliver a well-defined experience for the players that played the previous games. With great pace and outstanding atmospheric details, 4A Games latest production will fill the nuclear gap left by the previous leader of the post apocalyptic genre.

7 / 10.0 - Crackdown 3
Feb 21, 2019

Despite all the promises and the delays, Crackdown 3 is an unexpected miracle. It's genuinely a fun game to pick up and play for a couple of days, but not for longer, as its dated design will turn this experience into a boring and monotonous adventure. Might not be worth the full price, but for members of Xbox Game Pass it's an obligatory stop.

6 / 10.0 - Anthem
Mar 5, 2019

Anthem struggles to deliver an engaging and ongoing experience to return and grind every day. Even if you manage to look above his flaws, like underwhelming loot design, mission structure and rigid combat, there is little joy to be found in this game.

8.5 / 10.0 - Death Stranding
Nov 1, 2019

Despite having a well-designed and quite addictive gameplay loop, a great story with a powerful ending, Death Stranding falls shorts in key areas. With a long and lethargic pacing, players will turn away, and then, it's lack of difficulty will surely seal the deal to leave this adventure for later.

Call of Duty: Modern Warfare combination of modes is an easy recommendation for long time enthusiasts. However, the campaign feels really short and not up to expectation, and multiplayers modes feel hasty put together and throw around without real consideration of what works and what not.

8.5 / 10.0 - DOOM Eternal
Mar 17, 2020

Doom Eternal is one of the best FPS that exists today. We can even say that it far exceeds the original. However, not everything shines with the same intensity; the story is confusing and unnecessary, the platform sections are tedious, the new visual identity is generic. In general, you can notice a change of direction towards a game as a service for the wrong reasons. Doom Eternal finds himself caught in the eternal conflict of finding his own identity.

8 / 10.0 - Resident Evil 3
Apr 3, 2020

Resident Evil 3 is a different monster compared to last year release. While it lost some of his tetric atmosphere, a sense or urgency is gained in the form of Nemesis, a hulkin powerhose behind your heels. However, its short campaign, lack of replayability and forgettable multiplayer, will make this year Resident Evil a hard sell.

Ghost of Tsushima is a slight surprise. It is an all-around experience which delivers the fantasy of being a mythical samurai warrior. However, not everything shines, especially with the stealth systems, that do not square up, mechanically nor thematically. As the old saying goes, a samurai cannot obey 2 masters, because he dishonors himself. Thus, Ghost of Tsushima is a reminder of why Grand Theft Auto V and Red Dead Redemption 2 are generational gems and benchmarks in open world terms.

STAR WARS: Squadrons is a very well-accomplished installment of the franchise. A complete surprise thanks to the effective combination of arcade action and hard simulation. However, not everything shines; the limited scope, in campaign and multiplayer, drags down what could be a solid entry in the franchise.

Quality of life improvements, the new UI, and even Historical Battle mode, are additions highly appreciated; however, they are not enough justification to return to Age of Empires III: Definitive Edition, unless you are already a die hard fan.

Returnal is a fairly forgiving roguelike that quickly shows its true size and scale. It offers an excellent atmosphere and combat systems, with an intelligently woven plot. A solid recommendation for PlayStation 5 owners.
