Bluecoats : North & South tries really hard to resurrect one of the best games of the 80s'. But poor execution and failed attempts to make it modern cut it from nostalgic players, and those who might be looking for a fun mix of strategy and action in the Bluecoats universe.

Astro's Playroom is a truly adorable and joyful platformer. Even if a bit short and not very difficult, it shows the potential of the DualSense as we go through some lovely levels with some funny ideas and a lot to remember about the whole PlayStation brand. Definitely worth your time.

9 / 10 - Hades
Sep 21, 2020

Hades is a fantastic Rogue-lite that offers some terrific action, strond design, beautiful narrative, unforgettable characters and, needless to say, tremendous visuals and soundtrack. Even players who are or became allergic to its genre should try it, as it has probably no Achille's Heel and is, for sure, the most accomplished Supergiant Games experience to date.

Captain Tsubasa : Rise of New Champions is not a very good arcade-style football game. But it has the Captain Tsubasa's signature that offers some epic moments during its matches, and everything fans need to be hooked, like two story modes and some basic but strong ways to play with friends offline or online. It's very simplistic, quickly repetitive, but also very very enjoyable, especially if you're in need of something less serious.

Bloodstained : Curse of the Moon 2 is a splendid sequel, that has a lot to offer to players that are in need of some classic Castlevania experience. It offers a good challenge and has some pretty brilliant new ideas and feels like a very good NES game, which is compliment, that is very enjoyable for two players. Question : where do we have to sign for a third episode ?

Beyond a Steel Sky is a a worthy follow-up to the orginal game. Its story, characters, atmosphere and puzzles are truly enjoyable and its comic book visuals are totally fitting. It's just too bad that it doesn't feel well polished and that some people wiil, more than surely, have some headaches because it's sometimes really hard to know what's the next objective.

6 / 10 - Atomicrops
Jun 4, 2020

Atomicrops is an enjoyable Twin-Stick shooter that can provide some good challenge and laughs to people who like Bullet Hell and are ready to let it grow. Don't expect it to be the more polished game on Earth, accept the facts that farming isn't very satisfying and social interactions are quite missing, and you'll probably find a potentially addictive experience.

6 / 10 - Skelattack
Jun 2, 2020

What is Skelattack ? A charming game with good platformer bits, that doesn't manage to be convincing when it's about action or surprise in the exploration department. Still, it's a pleasant game for the time you play it, but don't expect it to be memorable.

Minecraft Dungeons can be considered as a good way, for kids, to try a dungeon-crawler. Very cute, very simple, efficient, that game just lacks some depth and tasks that would urge players to keep on playing after finishing the, quite short, main campaign.

On Nintendo Switch, Dungeon of the Endless is still an excellent and cruel mix of Rouge-like, Tower Defense, RPG and strategy. Port is good, even if it stumbles occasionnally when there are too many ennemies on screen, and it plays well, may you progress with a pad configuration and/or touch screen. It always has something to bring you down, but is charming and deep enough to urge you to go for another try and be more thoughtful. And lucky. Brilliant.

Someday You'll Return looked promising and starts quite well. But quickly, due to some weird choices in terms of interactions, awful acting and a lot of bugs, it just turns into a disappointing and frustrating experience to which you'll never want to return.

7 / 10 - Cloudpunk
May 3, 2020

Cloupunk is visually stunning and has a interesting cast, telling us some good stories. It has some issues, though, when it comes to interactions and exploration. But if you're into Cyberpunk genre, you will probably find exaclty what you wanted.

7 / 10 - Picross S4
Apr 25, 2020

Picross S4 is one of the best things to happen during the lockdown. With 482 (485 if you have saves from the previous iterations) puzzles, there's plenty to eat and a lot of adorable Pixel Art to discover, espcially with those HUGE Extra puzzles. It still feels like Jupiter could be more generous with non classic Picross grids and that some changes could be made, in particular concerning touchsceen controls and multiplayer. But, it's fine.

The Flower Collectors has a very interesting concept, that feels exciting. But it feels so rough, with some outdated animations and bland models, not to mention gameplay sequences that fail to transmit the intentions, that it mostly feels like a big disappointment from Mi'pu'mi after the surprising The Lion's Song.

The Foundation is a decent expansion to Control, as it gives us a reason to be Jesse Faden again, but it lacks something really new, fresh, challenging and spectacular to be considered as a memorable time.

8 / 10 - Black Mesa
Mar 17, 2020

It started as an homage, and it became the best version of the game. Black Mesa is fantastic remake of Half-Life, that never betrays the source material and gives it what is needed to be appreciated by a modern player on a modern PC - even if Source Engine is definitely very old. Just keep in mind it's a well refined but not triple A game, and you'll be just fine with it.

Wolcen can be as fun as it is visually stunning. It has some brilliant ideas in terms of character development and feels great once you in a fight. But it also has a lot of technical and balancing issues that may prove that it needed more time before release.

The Pedestrian is a wonderfully crafted puzzle game. As it shines visually and with its very pleasant soundtrack, it offers a simple but brilliant concept, with a great difficulty curve and new ideas that make it simply unique and absolutely lovely.

Through the Darkest of Times is a fantastic proposition and very much a necessary game to understand what it could have been like being a german, a human being, during these terrible years. Even if gameplay mechanics fall short, it's still very recommandable for anyone who needs a reminder and/or is intererested in History.

Stranger's Wrath was indeed a pure gem when it released in 2005, was very welcome on other systems and you can have the fondest memories of it. But the stranger looks and feels very old as it comes back on Nintendo Switch. It still has a good heart but doesn't really shine anymore in terms of graphics or gameplay. Still, it has this fantastic western atmosphere. And it is a part of video games history that has to be known. But mostly that makes us hope for some kind of makeover, Abe style.
