There's no hyperbole when I say that Dragon Age: Inquisition is the best RPG I've played in a long time. Hell, it's the best game of any genre I've played in a long time. It's a shoo-in for Game of the Year in my books, a masterclass in game design that deserves a spot in everyone's game library.

A wise man once mused, "why don't you have a pork bun in your hand?" I could ask the same thing of Sleeping Dogs: Definitive Edition - it's one of the best games available for PlayStation 4 and Xbox One, and ought to be in every gamer's collection.

Tales from the Borderlands was already one of my favourite Telltale series', second only to the groundbreaking first season of The Walking Dead. But with Escape Plan Bravo, I think this goes from "second" to "first-equal", and that's no mean feat. I can't wait to see what the finale has in store.

9.5 / 10.0 - Tearaway
Nov 20, 2013

And then, of course, there’s the fact that puzzle platformers and arty games like this aren’t for everyone. If you’re not into this type of game, Tearaway probably isn’t going to change your mind. In spite of that, I’d still say this is a must-buy for anyone with a Vita. At worst, it’ll make you rethink the value of some of the system’s more “gimmicky” user input mechanisms; at best you’ll get to have your heart set aflame by one of the most adorable, charming, and genuinely moving game experiences to date.

If you want to dive into it, there’s plenty of depth when it comes to customising and perfecting your party. That’s one of the reasons why, as much as World of Final Fantasy is a game aimed at Final Fantasy fans, it has enough to appeal to people who’ve never played the series before as well. You could strip away all the Final Fantasy-ness, and you’d still be left with a captivating monster-collecting game with an intriguing story, deep RPG and collecting mechanics, and a robust battle system. This game is a wonderful celebration of all things Final Fantasy that won’t just entice old fans, but will also create a whole generation of new ones as well.

The first episode of The Walking Dead: Season Two was undoubtedly great, but definitely had its flaws - partially due to being a pilot episode, and partially due to the writing being, though damn good, not quite up to the par of sheer excellence that Telltale have set themselves. The same can't be said of Episode Two: A House Divided - this is some of the studio's finest work.

9.4 / 10.0 - Tearaway Unfolded
Sep 3, 2015

It's a fresh take on the same ideas that made Tearaway so good, and even if the different hardware means it doesn't capture that feeling of "holding a world in your hand" as well as the Vita game, Unfolded is still a must-play for anyone with a PS4, regardless of whether or not you've played the original.

A Realm Reborn was already a great game when it launched, though it admittedly ran out of steam after a few months. Thanks to a bunch of content upgrades and a new level of sheen afforded by the PS4 hardware however, the game is easily one of the best on the market right now.

Tales from the Borderlands got off to a good start last year, and now that Atlas Mugged is finally here, the series has only gotten better. I hope the wait for Episode 3 won't be quite so long, but however far away it is, I expect it will live up to the anticipation. Atlas Mugged certainly did.
