The only complaint I have about Down in Bermuda is you can’t see all of the island when you zoom out. But that’s down to the size of the screen on the Switch in handheld mode and not necessarily the games fault. I’ve throughly enjoyed the puzzles in Down in Bermuda, there are just the right kind of difficulty. Enough of a challenge to give you a feeling of satisfaction once you have completed them. Hunting down the orbs is entertaining as you search everywhere for all of them. And for that, I give it our highest praise!

I think a rhythm game is only as good as the songs it contains, and Tadpole Treble Encore doesn’t disappoint in that respect. It is fun, engaging, and an extremely cute and charming game. The Composition mode adds a virtually limitless amount of content and replayability to the game. Tadpole Treble Encore is a game that you will play with a smile on your face. You can feel the love the developers, Matthew and Michael Taranto have put into their game. It probably won’t come as a surprise for anyone who has read this far in the review (thank you) that I’m giving Tadpole Treble Encore our highest score of..

Sokodice is an entertaining puzzle game. With just the right amount of challenge that requires thought and a little strategy to complete the puzzles. With 100 plus puzzles to finish, Sokodice will give you plenty of dice moving, brain-twisting hours of enjoyment. It would also be a good game to play a few stages of while you are commuting to work using the portability of the Nintendo Switch.

Lost Words: Beyond the Page wouldn’t be a game for all gamers as it doesn’t pose any challenges in terms of gameplay. This is a game you would play to enjoy its story and absorb it. It would also be suitable for a parent to play with their children who are around the same age or slightly younger than Izzy herself. Lost Words: Beyond the Page is a sweet and heartwarming story. As you journey with Izzy and Grace, it is full of rich emotions which will leave you thinking about the game long after you have finished it.

Loved - Backworlds

As someone who enjoys a good well thought out puzzle game, Backworlds ticks all my gaming boxes. Backworlds has intuitive controls, a great soundtrack, and is pleasant to look at and really fun to play. The puzzles are really inventive, requiring some lateral thinking without being impossibly difficult, and are never tedious. All fans of the puzzle genre should try out Backworlds, I definitely recommend it on its new home, the Nintendo Switch!

The Wild at Heart is a very enjoyable game. The story of Wake and Kirby is interesting and helps to give them a reason to be where they are in the Deep Woods. With well-crafted puzzles, beautiful artwork, and music that is relaxing and you can really tell a lot of imagination and love went into the making of the game as well as the music.

Labyrinth City: Pierre the Maze Detective is a fantastic game that perfectly represents the books it is based on. An amazing and delightful game to play with young children with the family gathered around the computer screen. In saying that, it is not exclusive as a family game, I played the game on my own and had a blast with it, so it is suitable for all ages to play and enjoy. I highly recommend becoming Pierre the detective and join the hunt for Mr X.

LEGO Builder’s Journey is a well thought out puzzle game, with a wonderful art style. It is an absolute delight to play. It is aimed at all fans of LEGO but it has a really grown up puzzle feel to it too. I hope we see more of this style of game from the LEGO brand in future. Also with the LEGO in the game and not all over the floor (no, I didn’t do that as a child) you can’t step on those Lego pieces and leave a brick imprint on your foot.

I’m pretty impressed with Monster Hunter Stories 2: Wings of Ruin. It has a great storyline, excellent voice acting, lots and lots of areas to explore and gather items in. The monsties are a delight to see going about their business in the open world. Combat is interesting and a lot of fun to take part in. If you are a fan of the Monster Hunter series then this is a very entertaining adventure RPG that is extremely enjoyable to play. But even if you aren’t into the main Monster Hunter series then you will find Monster Hunter Stories 2: Wings of Ruin to be different. This is an excellent game to sink your teeth in!

Loved - OCO
Aug 12, 2021

OCO is beautifully designed and is definitely a pick-up and very playable game. You need patience, perception, and rhythm to fully master the game. I also tried out the iOS version of the game and it plays equally well as the Steam version does. I think I might be addicted to it. It keeps me going back to see if I can conquer that level that I’m having trouble completing. To me, that is the sign of a successful puzzle game if it’s got its hooks into you!

A Monster’s Expedition is a delight to play. The solution to some of the puzzles might not click right away. However, when you do find it, it comes with such a feeling of satisfaction and accomplishment that it’s hard to describe. A game filled with lots of a-ha moments when the solution pops into your head. This is a must-play game for puzzle fans. A Monster’s Expedition is one of the best puzzle games I’ve played this year. I definitely recommend exploring the open-world museum of EnglandLand!

Loved - Patron
Aug 30, 2021

Patron is an engrossing and very enjoyable survival city builder. Once you can pass the first four to six years or so in the game it seems to get easier to manage everything the game throws at you. With fourteen maps to play through with different rule sets, there is plenty of long-term gameplay on offer. The progress in Patron can be slow, even with a fast forward button, but for those that like to ponder their next move on pause, Patron is perfect for a strategic play-through. Just be careful as there is so much to do and one wrong decision can send you crashing back to the start with an unhappy ending for your citizens. I love it!

A Juggler’s Tale certainly ticks all my boxes as a gamer. A good story, wonderful artwork, sound effects and music. The story of a young girl taking her destiny into her own hands in a bid for freedom, it is full of empowerment and hope. It’s also about persevering and continually trying to move forward with her dreams when all else fails. I wholeheartedly recommend you play A Juggler’s Tale, and let it give your heartstrings a pull.

Loved - SAMUDRA
Sep 30, 2021

SAMUDRA Is a story about hitting rock-bottom (the ocean floor) and Trip’s long laborious expedition back to the surface. It is also a story about the deep ocean and the damage pollution does to it. Which carries a warning that we all must heed if we intend to stay on this planet. You can do your bit for the environment by purchasing the game as profits from the game’s sales will partially fund a year-round collaboration with the Indonesian Environmental Activist Circle to reduce plastic usage in Indonesia by 70% in 2025.

Regency Solitaire was quite a surprising game for me to review as I didn’t really think there would be that much to the game when I started playing it, so I was pleasantly surprised. It’s an enjoyable, solid game of solitaire, mixed with a visual novel, an unusual combination but it works! Give Regency Solitaire a try and you might be surprised too.
