Critic Reviews for Lunacy: Saint Rhodes

Lunacy: Saint Rhodes is more like a mix between a puzzle game and an adventure game with eerie atmosphere, than a real survival horror. Besides a good story, its walking simulator structure could be a deterrent for players who are seeking more action.

While I’m glad that Lunacy: Saint Rhodes has finally been released after its troubled development, I can’t recommend it due to how disappointingly unpolished it is. On top of its visual and aural shortcomings, it’s not even scary.

Lunacy: Saint Rhodes is far from an unenjoyable game, and if you can see past the inconsistencies in the sound effects and are willing to go through some moments of frustrating or boring gameplay, the surrounding elements are very good. The story is well told, and a lot of the gameplay elements can be extremely fun. I was particularly fond of the inclusion of the glasses and their need to be cleaned at various moments of the game. I felt it added a unique element and proved the creativity of the development team behind Lunacy: Saint Rhodes.

The voice actors managed to convey the emotions that their characters were feeling at that point in time. Whether it was anger, sadness, or even confusion, it was done well and added to the immersive feel. Overall, Lunacy: Saint Rhodes is a fun, immersive, first-person survival horror with a chilling yet compelling storyline that keeps you interested as you find out more about the horrors that befall the Rhodes Family.

While I don’t play too many horror games I did like this one, but being a little impatient getting stuck on some puzzles sort of ruined the emersions and pacing of the game. I felt like when there was urgency that’s when the game truly shines. There are two endings to unlock which makes it replayable which is good as it can take seven to ten hours to get through it. Worth a look if you are a horror fan and at a reasonable price to boot I think give it a shot if you have the chance.
