Critic Reviews for The Crow's Eye

The Crow's Eye throws out the recent rules of first-person horror to create an atmospheric and daunting puzzle-based experience, albeit one that does not always gel smoothly.

The Crow's Eye is a strange title. It's a horror game in some ways, with great atmosphere for the most part. However, it's also not scary. For the most part it's more of a puzzle game, than horror game and has side-stories far more compelling than the main plot. In all, it offers an interesting, if flawed experience.

The music in the game matches the atmosphere extremely well, and contributes much to the psychological horror that the game emits.

All in all, The Crow's Eye is an interesting title with an interesting enough story, but with some hurdles to uncovering that story and the world in which it's set. Its dedication to dangling the carrot of freedom — and the conclusion of the convoluted tale — is commendable, and players will spend much of the game feeling as though the end is just around the next corner or past the next locked door.

I am not enthralled with "The Crow's Eye" but the work put into the game is obvious. Overall the characters are the strongest, the platforming is solid, and the puzzles are... puzzling. Have fun losing your mind!

A puzzle game with a pleasant narrative, and a decent voice acting. Still, the gameplay relies on puzzles not always satisfying, and the physics is not so precise in some occasions.

An atmospheric first person adventure puzzler that doesn’t commit to being scary. It has a few technical issues and some awkward transitions, but overall it’s a decent package for the bargain bin price.

No, The Crow’s Eye didn’t turn out how I expected, and in that way I’m disappointed. As a huge fan of horror games, I was let down by The Crow’s Eye failing to live up to the horror that the teasers seemed to promise. But, I can appreciate a good puzzle game and that’s exactly what this is, and having a decent narrative is icing on the cake.
