Critic Reviews for Bokida – Heartfelt Reunion

Bokida isn't a title for everyone, but for those who can appreciate the exploration of a new and beautiful world it can be a nice and relaxing experience.

There's nothing truly bad about Bokida: Heartfelt Reunion, and it certainly has its looks going for it. Unfortunately, when it comes to design, gameplay, and story, everything either feels underdeveloped or inferior to similar titles. For a couple of hours of peaceful exploration, it may be worth looking into, but after putting it down, it's unlikely that you'll ever have a heartfelt reunion with it.

Bokida presents a compelling world to explore that’s wrapped in a peaceful, almost zen atmosphere. You’re never in danger or racing against any sort of threat in Bokida. You’re free to go where you like, see what you want and tackle the world at your own pace and in whatever way you see fit.

Bokida is a refreshing taste of something different. A glass of cold water which will soon leave you wanting something with a tad more flavour. I'd suggest looking at this for what it is: an experiment in coding and the first foray for an interesting new team. The groundwork is in place, now let's see what they can do with it going forwards.

This is stunning. It's just so utterly beautiful, its bucolic scenes hiding extraordinarily lavish and enticing buildings. It's smart but so modest about that, bulging with brilliant ideas. Movement is amazing and refreshing. And despite the guff, the place itself is fascinating to wander. What a treat. Just a slightly expensive treat.
