Knack 2 has learned most of its lessons from the first installment and is a more joyful experience. although it has some serious flaws, it could be a fun game to play with your siblings or friends.

The original Knack was troubled, to say the least. A lame story, tedious and simplistic gameplay, and a bizarre difficulty curve. A sequel was an odd choice, but thankfully it seems the mistakes have been learned from and the final product is better in just about every way.

Not a lot has changed here, so if you didn't like the first game, you'll probably not feel any more warmth to this one. If you did like the original Knack though, then this is more of the same and chances are you'll enjoy it. Without the pressure of being a launch title, we can see the game for what it really is: a fun platform title that does plenty of things well, if very little that's particularly ground-breaking.

Knack 2 doesn't want to impress you or put a challenge in your way. Knack 2 is just a fun and meaningless experience that adds nothing to you but you'll be happy with your time spent.

Knack 2 is a bloated experience that no one asked for. Sony Computer Entertainment Japan can be credited with improving over the first game, but that's not saying much.

Maybe a Knack III would elevate the series, but as of right now Knack stands as one of the most aggressively average and forgettable Sony first-party franchises.

When it comes down to it, Knack 2 didn't aim to change the action-adventure platforming genre, nor is it perfect, but it did do a damn good job of improving upon what the series has to offer. Some gamers will forever view Knack as a joke, but Knack 2 takes all those jokes and polishes them to a great degree. If you enjoyed the original game, you're going to have a blast with this one. I would recommend it to gamers of all ages and skill levels. Combat is fun, the graphics shine, and co-op is an absolute blast. If you have the time and money, Knack 2 is worth it. Hope you stick around for the inevitable Knack 3!

It’s far from perfect, but Knack II is an improvement in every way on Knack. It’s like all your favourite Saturday morning cartoons came to life and you get to be the star.

When I ask my kids what score they'd give Knack 2 out of 10, they say "ten hundred out of ten" but for me the filler and occasional confusing section mean that it falls just short of joining the likes of Jak & Daxter and Ratchet & Clank in the annals of 3D platforming history but it's still a solid, polished and thoroughly entertaining game.

Knack II is a fun beat 'em up platformer best suited for kids and families and shines best with its seamless co-op and more varied action-combat - the story and hero is still dull as ever, though.

Is it worth picking up? Yes. The dad jokes and the gameplay are great for hours on end, and now we're starting to see the vision for Knack starting to come together.

You might just have some fun playing Knack 2, but at the back of your mind there'll always be a sense of déjà vu alongside the incredulous thought that a sequel to Knack actually exists.

While Knack remains an uninspired protagonist, Knack II's gameplay more than makes up for his bland character. Vast improvements in combat, visual fidelity, platforming, and the addition of cooperative play realize much of the potential the original Knack was meant to achieve. Knack II is a fine example of how a sequel can improve on its predecessor in nearly every way.

All in all, I found Knack 2 to be a curious experience. It certainly has the ingredients for a successful action-platformer from a production and mechanical perspective. Like a dish that does not quite come out perfectly, however, its various elements don’t mix as well as they should have. The platforming is solid for the most part and certain aspects of the game are definitely impressive on a technical level. That being said, the lack of an emotional connection to its characters made me feel like I was playing an extended technology demo at times.

Knack is back and has improved himself enough to warrant being played by any 3D platformer fan.

Knack 2 is the proper way to do a sequel. The ideas are solid and platform games of this quality are few and far between.

Knack II is a standard kids' platformer that's safe, simple and enjoyable, but it has little going for it beyond that. It's competent, but it's difficult to recommend it unless you're looking for something to play with a younger gamer. Players will enjoy the title for the duration of the play session but will likely forget about it in a week or two. There's certainly a place for that sort of game, and Knack II does the job well for its budget price tag of $40, but it's disappointing to see a title with so much potential and so little ambition.

Knack 2 is an improvement on the original game across the board with a better balance between brawling and platforming, though it's not without its flaws.

Whilst Knack 2 might not necessarily offer anything that you wouldn’t have already seen before in the genre, it improves upon the prequel in almost every single way. The gameplay is more refined and enjoyable, combat has been expanded upon but still remains accessible, the game world is stunning and slicker than ever, whilst the introduction of co-op play offers a whole new way to play the game. Whilst I’ll admit that I don’t think Knack 2 does enough to really cement Knack’s status as Sony’s platforming mascot, it has certainly improved the reputation of the series and proven that there’s a place on the Playstation 4 for its fun, platforming action. If you were let down by the original game, don’t be put off giving Knack 2 a try – you might find yourself pleasantly surprised by the charming adventure on offer.

A drastic improvement over the original, Knack 2 offers plenty of fun with others, though its weak story and limp characters really let it down.
