Critic Reviews for OF MICE AND SAND -REVISED-

Of Mice and Sand is a little resource management game that requires a huge amount of time (and previous knowledge) to begin with it.

Of Mice and Sand -Revised- does a lot of things right; a mixture of quests, resource management, and a necessity for clever thinking result in a decent experience for the most dedicated fans of the genre. Unfortunately, though, a lack of clear direction and a tricky-to-master workflow mean that it likely won't quite click with everyone else; these games work best when you find yourself addicted to their menial tasks and, this time around, that sadly wasn't always the case. Not a bad option to consider for fans of tactical management, then, but be wary of our warnings if you do choose to give it a go.

Ultimately, Of Mice and Sand -Revised- is a positively charming title. It's a cute and entertaining world that I would love to come back to if Arc System Works could find a way to make a second trip more compelling with additional gameplay options.

Upgrading the ship and taking part in battles are the most interesting part; I just wish there was more to it.

The bigger screen and better resolution of the Switch makes Of Mice And Sand the game it wanted to be.

Even upgrades designed to maximize production capacity can't fully address the pacing. Interface concerns dog the experience throughout. Still, it's a fun diversion in short bursts and a welcome companion to TV, but finding the entire path to El Dorado might take a little too long for its own good.

Ultimately Revised has its merits and can work but it sort of shoots itself in the foot in places in terms of engaging and hooking new players in for the ride. If you take your time, show patience, and stick with the system you’ll begin to expand and improve your vehicle, add to your crew, and see a number of more interesting things as you progress. Just be warned that the game isn’t so much outright hard in terms of difficulty as it can be a bit tedious in stretches as you try to accumulate what you need to progress, and you’ll always need to keep an eye on your food and fuel or you’ll meet with a nasty fate.

Of Mice and Sand Revised is an alright experience, it has some depth for the management style it deploys and charm in the mini, as in tiny mice you take care of.
