Far Cry New Dawn takes players on an interesting journey to tell the story of what happened after the cliffhanger events of Far Cry 5. It mixes and matches franchise staples with new RPG mechanics and gameplay ideas to offer something familiar, but fresh.

Far Cry New Dawn is an awesome addition to the series, especially since it's the first sequel for another game. The combat makes you feel like a badass, but that doesn't mean you can go in without gearing up. On the lighter side, there's plenty of quirky characters to make you laugh during these hard times.

Far Cry New Dawn shares a lot of great similarities with Far Cry 5, but it's the minor tweaks that allow it to stand as its own title.

As I said, there's plenty of game here, and it's all been a joy. Far Cry 5 was one of the best games in the series, and yet New Dawn may have just eclipsed it with some fine-tuning and a brave new world to explore. I can hardly wait to see what's next from the series, and I hope it follows in the footsteps of The Father.

Though Far Cry: New Dawn treads similar ground as its predecessor, this direct sequel signals the franchises is stretching its wings by introducing RPG mechanics and easily replayable content. This is still a game packed with zany characters, bizarre moments, and fast-paced fun.

Far Cry New Dawn reskins the entire map of Far Cry 5, adding enough new mechanics to prevent it from feeling like a retread. While the new villains are lackluster, the return of Joseph Seed is very welcome, giving new depth to the character and his world. With Outpost invasions, Expeditions, and treasure hunts, there is a ton of content here, and almost all of it is fun. There is very little filler in Far Cry New Dawn, and by streamlining the content, Ubisoft has delivered a game that is razor sharp.

But for the most part, Far Cry New Dawn is fun, and that's the only thing that matters. There is more than enough content to never feel that you're grinding (although you are), and it fulfills one of the weirdest human fascinations, and that's the life after a world-encompassing cataclysm. And best of all, the entirety of the game can be played in co-op mode.

Surprisingly, Far Cry New Dawn is much more than just a spin-off, and it can be easily considered as one of the main and best titles in the Far Cry series.

Far Cry: New Dawn has nothing less than a main game in Far Cry series and it is a very complete game full of high quality content. Despite of some problems in story, i must say that amazing graphics, deep gameplay with new RPG elements and features, even more beautiful Hope County (than Far Cry 5) and many different activities to do, made Far Cry: New Dawn one of the best spin-offs that we've seen so far and either you play Far Cry 5 or not, you should definitely experience Far Cry: New Dawn, because it is absolutely worth your time and money.

Far Cry New Dawn is a fun little expansion to the world set in Far Cry 5, and the apocalyptic wasteland is a surprisingly fun place to explore thanks to its colorful graffiti and biker villains. It’s not too long a game, but you’ll find plenty of fun here.

While I think the Far Cry formula hasn’t really changed since exploring that exotic island in 3, the basic gameplay loop is as addictive as ever.

There’s plenty of things to love about New Dawn despite all the things that fell short of what could’ve been. Whether your figuring out the riddles left behind by those that protected their treasures, clearing outposts over and over again with a different method each and everytime, or my personal favourite pastime which is unleashing my “War Boar” Horatio to send all the high way men flying no matter how strong they were since Horatio is the most broken character in all of Far Cry in my personal opinion, there’s so much fun to be had in the wild mix of chaos that just works and makes the series feel fresh and alive again.

Far Cry: New Dawn is a good spin-off for Far Cry 5, but doesn't completely match the value of the parent game. If you enjoyed FC5 and want more, this is a good more. Otherwise, play FC5 first.

Far Cry New Dawn might be a spinoff game, but it's sure to have a lasting impact on what we think of when Far Cry comes to mind

Far Cry: New Dawn cuts away some of the bloat of its predecessor Far Cry 5, to deliver a cleaner, more focused experience. The visual style breathes a good degree of life into a setting we've seen before, and Expeditions add more variety on top of that. The systems push you towards repeating content, but the boring rewards don't back that up. And hunting, once one of the core parts of Far Cry, is mostly an afterthought here. Despite those problems, New Dawn's short running time is a boon and the story provides closure to those who played the previous game. If you played and loved Far Cry 5, pick up New Dawn. If you didn't, know that it's still fun, but you'll lose some of the context.

Looking ahead, the series is equipped to veer off in a bunch of compelling new directions. I don't know what to expect from the future of Far Cry, and that's so exciting. My mind is buzzing with possibilities.

Far Cry: New Dawn has some nice new ideas that set it apart from it's predecessor, but ultimately they can't hide that their similarities. But rest asure: if you're looking to have fun shooting, knifing and making things explode, this game will not disappoint you.
