Assassin's Creed Odyssey: The Fate of Atlantis - Episode 1

Explore three new worlds from Greek mythology: Elysium, the Underworld, and Atlantis!
Face legendary trials and encounter the gods themselves, including Persephone, Hades, Poseidon, and more!
Delve deeper into Assassin's Creed lore and uncover the mysterious power of the First Civilisation.
Legacy of the First Blade was a fine questline, but often relied too heavily on nostalgia while making liberal use of the existing world map. Fate of Atlantis by comparison actually feels like a premium creation while forging its own identity: it requires no caveat, it builds on Odyssey. This isn't something I'm cautiously optimistic for, I'm ready to dive into the rest with both feet.
By playing for the second time the mythology card, Ubosft delivers a strong, deep, and mostly beautiful extension for last year's greek odyssey. Switching between Layla and Kassandra/Alexios might be tedious in the begenning, but the gorgeous environment awaiting is worth the effort, thanks to an interesting plot, free exploration and a very correct length.

As the first part of the second major story DLC for Assassin's Creed Odyssey, Fields of Elysium is both impressive and disappointing. It is impressive in how it adds to the already vast world of Assassin's Creed Odyssey and disappointing in how the gameplay loop, while tweaked, doesn't really change from what was found in the main game. There's a lot of potential here, and I'm looking forward to seeing what Ubisoft delivers in episode 2.
