Gato Roboto is a delightful Metroidvania title that favors the classics enough to feel a sense of connection to them while forging is own path forward. Filled with plenty of humor, challenge, and healthy heap of cattitude, Gato Roboto is a purr-fectly satisfy title.

Gato Roboto is an absolutely great game. That doesn’t mean it’s without flaws, but the few that are present are easily overshadowed by the brilliant pixel art, often refreshing humor, and fun gameplay. Even stages that are often the downfall of a Metroidvania such as a water level or chase sequence are done incredibly well.

Gato Roboto is a great game that is designed well. I just wish there was more. This better not be the last we see of Kiki. I could definitely have spent another three or more hours in the world of this Gato Roboto.

Everyone else already said "Domo Arigato Gato Roboto", so I'm not gonna do that

Gato Roboto accomplishes so much with so little. Even those it looks like a game that would be on the Atari 2600 or the big brick Gameboy, every aspect of Kiki's world glows as bright as one of the best of the Metroidvania genre. Plus, it's a cat in a mech suit, does a game get any more charming than that?

Gato Roboto is an adorable metroidvania that never lowers its rhythm: the controls are perfect and the feeling is the right one, ideal for alternating shootings, platforming and exploration.

Overall, Gato Roboto is one of my favorite indie games I’ve had a chance to play this year.

Gato Roboto is polished, and there is no doubt a certain naive charm to the game, aided by catchy music and sound effects.

With tight controls, retro-styled minimal art style and a superb sense of progression, this is the perfect Metroidvania to play whilst you're waiting for an actual Metroid or appropriate Castlevania game.

Gato Roboto is a refreshingly simple take on the Metroidvania formula. It's not going to impress everyone, but if you're just looking for solid side-scrolling action and a pretty cute cat, it won't disappoint.

If you can get over the fact that Gato Roboto doesn't revolutionize the Metroidvania genre, you're in for a fun time. With an incredibly charming art style and genuinely fun gameplay, you won't regret aiding Kiki on this action-packed adventure.

While Gato Roboto could stand to be a more fleshed-out metroidvania game, it's still a highly enjoyable action game overall. Kiki's adventure is one chock full of classic NES-era action, nicely challenging combat, fun gameplay and charming visuals. It's a short burst of action, but one you won't forget anytime soon. So thankfully, there is more to the game to love beyond just a cat inside a mechanical suit. But come on, can you really resist Kiki's kickass cuteness?

Gato Roboto features some charming animations and character interaction between Gary and his beloved kitty cat. The only truly disappointing thing I found about the game is that its over way too soon.

Gato Roboto might lean a little too heavily on homage, but never truly in a bad way. It might be more goofy than great and more adorable than original, but the game still delivers a pint-sized prance that comes together nicely even if it's a little short. This follows through on the premise of Meowtroid extremely well.

What matters is that taking control of Kiki the cat is an absolute joy, and the sheer amount of variety packed into the game’s short running time should be applauded. If you like Metroidvanias, or cats, get Gato Roboto bought.

Don't let the endearing protagonist and lo-fi, vintage visuals fool you: Gato Roboto is a challenging, pedigree Metroidvania. But what sets it apart from its peers are the quality of life improvements that redress all of the genre's worst flaws, without blunting any of the barbs. This is a Meowtroidvania worthy of the name.

Overall, Gato Roboto is a fun little action game with a bit of exploration that doesn’t do all that much gameplay-wise to stand out from the pack. However, I don’t want that to be taken in a bad way; this game is a perfectly solid and entertaining experience, and I had a great time running through it.
