Overall, Warlocks 2: God Slayers is not perfect, but it definitely plays like it. With extensive replay incentive, charming quirks, in-depth customization, and satisfying combat, it is hard not to recommend this title. It is a fun metroidvania package, and one worth a try even if the genre isn't your favorite and/or hasn't stood out.

Warlocks 2: God Slayers lets players work to become a powerful warlock as they help the Order and destroy gods. The combat can get repetitive, but isn't too challenging until you encounter the bosses. With several characters to choose from, you'll be able to fight in multiple different combat styles.

Warlocks 2: Godslayers is enjoyable for the most part, but the difficult and tedious combat can take the fun out of the game for some people.  The game is definitely geared for multiplayer as the combat can be overwhelming during solo play.  Beyond that there are a few minor performance hiccups though it doesn't normally affect any major gameplay.  If you can get past that and the difficult-at-times combat, you'll find an enjoyable and humorous game with some interesting gameplay mechanics and even more interesting writing.

There's no denying Warlocks 2: God Slayers has really improved upon the original game that completely bypassed a Nintendo platform release. The larger levels, more refined character traits and continued support for co-op play does help it stand out among its Metroidvania-esque, pixel art-styled brethren. However, the lack of support for online play (something present on PC and other version of the game) takes the shine off this package, especially for a game that's substantially more fun to play with others.

The drawbacks don't distract too much from an otherwise satisfying cooperative side-scrolling action RPG mashup.

Warlocks 2 brings a beautifully crafted pixel world to life in a not so unique fashion as a RPG Platformer.

Those who are seeking out a challenging action RPG on the Nintendo Switch should give Warlocks 2: God Slayers a shot. It's just hard to recommend the game based on its tedious control scheme and slow moment-to-moment gameplay.

Warlocks 2: God Slayers is a simply correct game. The many bugs that we will find in it weigh down a game that has good ideas, but if it had had a few more months of development, it would have been better stopped.

Warlocks 2: God Slayers sets itself on an ambitious path which many players will quickly feel attracted to. The problem is, for all its quality animations and well-written dialogues, Warlocks II simply does not play well enough to provide a memorable, enjoyable experience. Adding to all its gameplay flaws a very inconvenient and unchangeable control system, the result is a game that simply serves nobody's tastes and will only disappoint who will expect something from it.

If you're just looking for a mildly-amusing journey to help pass the time, Warlocks 2: God Slayers isn't the worst choice. However, if your intension is to play on the highest difficulty and invest a lot of hours, then the game's flaws will become apparent.

Great gameplay and a cool world make Warlocks II an enjoyable experience. It's a fairly standard experience in many ways, but a few nice ideas and twists really liven it up. It's a good time, even if it isn't that funny.
