A new patch has been released for Call of Duty: Modern Warfare, and brings with it some fixes, playlist updates, and a crossbow.

The latest Modern Warfare patch is now live, and brings a few different things with it. One of the main additions is the new crossbow weapon. While not much about the weapon is revealed in the patch notes, we know how to unlock it. To get your hands on the weapon, players have to use a Marksman Rifle with a Reflex Optic. They have to get 5 kills in 25 matches with the rifle in order to obtain the crossbow.

The new patch also updates the playlist, removing Shoot House 24/7, and adding Shoot the Ship and Capture the Flag. Aniyah Palace has also been put back into the rotation. Players will also receive five additional loadout slots. The patch is also fixing a number of bugs and exploits, as well as some balances for a few weapons. You can read the patch notes here.

While the latest Modern Warfare patch does bring with it a cool new weapon, players have been experiencing an issue after downloading the patch. For some, error prompts will appear stating that they must reset their rank and unlocks to continue. Developer Infinity Ward has posted on twitter that they are aware of the issue, and advises those who get the message to just close the game. Infinity Ward has warned gamers not to select either option that comes up, and just hard close the game in an attempt to prevent any issues.

Call of Duty: Modern Warfare is available on PC, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One. According to Activision, the title is the franchise's best selling game of this console generation. The game has made over $1 billion in sales, and has the most hours played, hours per player, and average daily players this generation. The game was the best selling game of 2019.
