The Animal Crossing: New Horizons and DOOM Eternal crossover fan art is being greatly appreciated by the developers of the games.

In an interview with IGN, New Horizons' director Aya Kyogoku and producer Hisashi Nogami stated that they think it is great that fans are creating art that mixes their game with DOOM Eternal

"I definitely do notice and have noticed that there's a lot of DOOM and Animal Crossing collaboration art and illustrations that are being posted, and as I look through them I'm in awe of how much creativity our fans have," Kyogoku stated.

"I think because there is a common denominator of this type of communication happening between DOOM and Animal Crossing fans, and also the fact that Animal Crossing is a communication game, we're very thankful and very thrilled to see all this," Kyogoku continued. "We're so excited at the same time to see how the two [fandoms] are coming together to celebrate this day."

"So Animal Crossing and DOOM - obviously the game genres are completely different," Nogami stated. "We definitely do have something in common, and that is that they're both video games, and come from that same subculture so to speak. It's so great to see that these two different [fandoms] are coming together and hyping up the gaming [community] and gaming culture itself. It really is a great thing to see."

DOOM Eternal's developers are loving the fan art as well. Game director Hugo Martin thinks that it is awesome that fans are bringing the two games together.

"I think it's awesome and it speaks to the amazing diversity that we see in games today. I honestly root for other games and other studios," Martin stated (via GameSpot). "I'm so proud to work in the game industry and the fact that two games that are so completely different, getting a ton of press, come out on the same day. It's an incredible time to be in development and I'm excited to play Animal Crossing."

Both DOOM Eternal and Animal Crossing: New Horizons are receiving critical acclaim. DOOM Eternal currently has a 90 point Top Critic Average on OpenCritic, and holds a Mighty Rating. Animal Crossing: New Horizons has a 92 point Top Critic Average, and also has a Mighty Rating.

I have been playing video games for as long as I can remember. I am a huge fan of JRPGs, though I also enjoy fighters. I have been writing about video games for a few years now. If it has a great story, I am sure that I will dig it.
