The full campaign for Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 has been released.
Activision has announced that they have released Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 Campaign Remastered for the PlayStation 4. The campaign has been remastered by Beenox, and now features high-definition visuals and the latest audio advancements. The game will come to PC and the Xbox One on April 30th, according to a tweet released on the official Call of Duty feed.
Those who purchase Modern Warfare 2 Campaign Remastered on the PS4, or pre-purchase the campaign on other platforms, will receive the Underwater Demo Team Classic Ghost Bundle. The bundle will grant players the UDT Ghost Operator skin, the "Task Force" and "One for One" weapon blueprints, a weapon charm, an emblem, two Battle Pass tier skips, and more. Players will be able to equip these cosmetics in Call of Duty: Modern Warfare's multiplayer, Spec Ops, and Warzone modes.
Modern Warfare 2 Campaign Remastered can be purchased from the PlayStation Store for $19.99.
Modern Warfare 2 Campaign Remastered does not include the multiplayer modes from the original Modern Warfare 2. In a blog post, Activision explained that they did not include the multiplayer modes as they are trying to bring "new life" within the Modern Warfare universe into one unified online multiplayer playground.
"Rather than release a separate, multiplayer experience as a standalone pack, Activision and Infinity Ward are looking to bring more classic map experiences to new life within the Modern Warfare universe as it continues to grow and build over time," Activision explained.
Call of Duty: Modern Warfare is available now for PC, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One. The free-to-play Warzone mode is also available for the same platforms, and does not require Modern Warfare to play. Modern Warfare and Warzone are required in order to play the remastered Modern Warfare 2 campaign.
