More information about The Last of Us Part II will be coming soon.

On the PlayStation Blog, it was announced that the next episode of State of Play will be entirely about The Last of Us Part II. The episode will air on May 27th at 1:00 p.m. PST. The show can be watched through PlayStation's YouTube or Twitch channels. The stream will be archived, allowing those who were not able to watch it live the opportunity to see it at a later date.

Naughty Dog Vice President and The Last of Us Part II Director Neil Druckmann will be giving fans a special preview of the game, as Druckmann gives details of the title's gameplay and story. According to the PlayStation Blog, this Wednesday's State of Play should clock in at around 20 minutes, with an eight minute extended sequence showing off never-before-seen gameplay.

It has been stressed that the upcoming episode of State of Play will be entirely focused on The Last of Us Part II. There will be no news or updates on the PlayStation 5 during the episode.

Earlier this month it had been announced that The Last of Us Part II had gone gold, and is ready to print and ship. Developer Naughty Dog had released a trailer for the game to celebrate. The announcement had come from Druckmann himself, stating that the upcoming title is the "most ambitious game we've ever made."

The Last of Us Part II will release on June 19th. The game will be a PlayStation 4 exclusive. The title was meant to release this month, but was pushed back to a June release date due to the effects of the COVID-19 pandemic. In order to make room for The Last of Us Part II's release, Ghost of Tsushima was pushed back to a July release date.
