PlayStation Players Now Have The Chance To Appear In Its First-Party Games

PlayStation has just launched a new initiative called The Playerbase. Through it, players will be afforded the opportunity to be scanned so that they can appear in a PlayStation Studios game. First up is Gran Turismo 7, and applications to be the lucky player who is added to the game are already open.

The first details about The Playerbase were revealed today via the PlayStation Blog. Described as a community program, the blog notes that it will provide its players with the opportunity to quite literally step inside some of its biggest games. No indications yet of what those other games might be, just that Gran Turismo 7 will be the first.

If you want a free Leon Kennedy avatar, you'll need to go through a surprising amount of work.

The PlayStation-published racing sim is a logical place to start, as even though it's already a few years old, since it isn't a story based game with a linear narrative, as well as a game its fans continue to play four years later, adding a new face into the mix won't require any additional explanation. PlayStation can just scan you and put you in the game however it sees fit....
