According to a new report, there are four unannounced characters from Overwatch 2 waiting to be revealed. The report comes from Game Informer's executive editor Andrew Reiner, who had recently visited the game's development team.

According to Game Informer, Blizzard showed off thirteen updated hero designs during the visit, with Doomfist being the last one to go through the process. Game director Jeff Kaplan then quickly showed off a PowerPoint presentation that showed off some of Overwatch 2's new content. According to Reiner, one of the slides brought up featured new heroes. He states that the image had four silhouettes, but that none of them were immediately recognizable from earlier concept art or comic books. Three of the silhouettes looked female to Reiner, though this is just a guess. The character believed to be male held a crooked staff, looking like a wizard or warlock.

The hero that stood out the most to Reiner appeared to be a female with short hair. At her side was a fuzzy little creature with pointy ears and an equally pointy tail. The hero wielded a giant four-sided weapon, reminding Reiner of Yuffie from Final Fantasy VII. He did not get a good look at the other two heroes, but they did not stand out like the others.

This would mean that including the previously announced hero Sojourn (and maybe Echo), Overwatch 2 will include 5-6 new heroes at the moment. It is possible that these are just the heroes that Blizzard wants to tease for now, and that more reveals are on the way.

Overwatch 2 was revealed at Blizzcon this past weekend. A new mode called Push was one of the main points shown. Another one of the major announcements was the introduction of a new story mode, which will feature a robust story and the ability to upgrade your characters. Overwatch 2 does not have a release date at the moment. It is being developed for PC, Nintendo Switch, Xbox One, and PlayStation 4.
