Few expected Tom Clancy's Rainbow Six Siege to have a tail as long as it does when it launched in December of 2015 to middling reviews, but as Ubisoft has revealed its final season of Year 4 content, it's clear the game has outpaced even publisher expectations. The latest in-game season is called Shifting Tides, and it introduces two new Operators, a revamped map, and a host of other changes.

Kali, an Indian Attacker, and Wamai, a Kenyan Defender are the two latest Operators to arrive to the tactical shooter, and like their predecessors, they each bring their own unique backstories and even had their military careers cross paths during their time as private military contractors in Kali's Nighthaven group.

For those playing as Kali, they'll be equipped with a CSRX 300 Sniper Rifle which offers the special ability of breaching barricades and hatches in a single shot. For a gadget, players will utilize her under-barrel, the LV Explosive Lance, which will instantly destroy all gadgets on both sides of breakable and reinforced surfaces. Wamai, meanwhile, uses the Mag-NET System, which lures and reroutes enemy projectiles and has them detonate at its location, rendering enemy grenades and other projectiles useless, or even turning them on their allies. He's also equipped with either the MP5K or AUG A2.

With this pair comes a reimagined Theme Park map which removes the Rail Platform and sees the East and West sections moved closer together. Indoors, the East has "largely evolved," says Ubisoft, including new entrances, previous through-ways now blocked off, and two new bomb areas.

Other quality of life updates to Siege incoming with this update include a new limb penetration system, slight adjustments to how players initiate rappelling, and price decreases on the following seven Operators: Hibana, Echo, Dokkaebi, Vigil, Zofia, Nomad and Kaid.

The update is now available for those playing in the public test server version of the game, which currently remains exclusive to Windows PC. No date has yet been announced for Shifting Tides to arrive to the main game for all players.
