Overwatch's Winter Wonderland event is back, and brings with it plenty of goodies.

Overwatch's annual Winter Wonderland event began today on PC, PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and Nintendo Switch. The event will see the return of the limited-time mode Mei's Snowball Offensive. There will also be a new mode this year that still focuses on Mei: Snowball Deathmatch. This mode is an 8-player free-for-all deathmatch where everyone plays as Mei with a modified snowball gun. Players will be able to use a new ability that allows them to catch snowballs and add it to their ammo count. The first player to reach 15 eliminations wins.

Along with the new mode, gamers will be able to earn a trio of epic-tier skins. Each week, everyone who reaches nine wins will be able to win a cosmetic. The first week is Ugly Sweater Soldier: 76, the second week Holly Moira, and the third week Snow Angel Mercy. There will also be the new legendary skins Jotunn Doomfist, Mountain Man McCree, Rat King Reaper, and Rime Sigma. Finally, there will be several sprays and player icons.

Winter Wonderland 2019 will run until January 2nd.

Last month Overwatch 2 was announced for PC, PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and Nintendo Switch. All player's skins and cosmetics that have been earned in the first game will carry over to the sequel. All the time spent playing the first game will also be carried over. The game will feature a new competitive mode called Push. There will be story missions, which will be repeatable. Players will be able to upgrade their characters as they play through the game's story. There are also a handful of new heroes to play as in the sequel, four of which we know exist that have not been officially announced. A release date for Overwatch 2 has not been given yet.
