9.7 / 10.0 - Max Payne 3
Jun 15, 2012

Max Payne 3 is a solid game made for the PC, with incredible visuals and sound to go along with that. This is a no brainer for any action shooter fan out there. If you have not tried this legendary series yet, then Max Payne 3 is a perfect introduction.

4.1 / 5.0 - Neverwinter
Jun 24, 2013

Neverwinter is definitely one of the best Dungeons & Dragons games that we have seen using the MMO archetype. The world is quite descriptive and the developers ensure that it is well linked to Dungeons & Dragons. Although at times, it is a game of grinding, Neverwinter for us is more about exploration and team work which definitely has us addicted.

4.2 / 5.0 - Pokemon X and Y
Nov 1, 2013

Rather than being weighed down by it’s own lengthy history, the game is uplifted by it. Pokémon X/Y is part monster-hunting RPG, part social networking tool, and the two mesh nicely together. Not a revolution for the series, but enough of an improvement that even the most jaded fan might regain that old twinkle in the eye.

4.6 / 5.0 - Battlefield 4
Nov 17, 2013

Battlefield 4 is two different games put together to justify the full price for the game. The single player aspect feels completely unnecessary at this point and very much feels tacked on. It is a nice tech demo but nothing more. The multiplayer is the main content and why people why this game, and despite the issues at launch when everything is working the game is amazing and could easily hold up as a standalone title.

Ryse Son of Rome is a beautiful looking game on the Xbox One that regrettably suffers from monotonous gameplay which is a "crying" shame. I wanted so much for this game and at the end of the day, it's more a tech demo than a fully fledged game.

4.5 / 5.0 - Forza Motorsport 5

Forza Motorsport 5 is a very satisfying racer on the Xbox One that successfully ticks all the right boxes and delivers both gameplay and graphics! It's a great start for the XBox One!

4.6 / 5.0 - Dead Rising 3
Nov 27, 2013

Dead Rising 3 is a very awesome looking game on the Xbox One that more importantly is immensely fun to play. The open-world is a treat to explore, especially getting off the beaten track as you engage in side quests, find Frank West statues for additional experience points and kill thousands and thousands of zombies.

Super Mario 3D World is one of the best Super Mario games (even better than Galaxy 2) to date and not only modernises the franchise but pays homage to what came before. It's fun, it's fast and it's the best multiplayer experience on the Wii U. I thoroughly enjoyed this game from start to finish and I will be returning again.

3.8 / 5.0 - Zoo Tycoon
Dec 8, 2013

Zoo Tycoon is definitely a family friend game that can be played by all ages. Younger gamers will definitely get a kick out of designing their own zoos and engaging in the mini-games. Whereas older players will enjoy the challenge mode which does up the difficulty level of the game as you attempt to make a profitable, education and fun zoo for everyone.

On the PlayStation 4, Injustice: Gods Among Us is truly a thoroughly entertaining fighter that not only looks amazing but plays extremely well. Although you can play the game as a button masher, there is an element of skill involved as each character has their pros and cons, especially when fighting other characters so yes, there is a strategy. I also love the fanservice that NetherRealm give the players, especially with the awesome cameos in the title. Sure, it does feel a little like Mortal Kombat but this is all DC comics baby!

In conclusion, LEGO Marvel Super Heroes is easily the best LEGO game on any console that not only pays homage to the world of Marvel superheroes but boasts great gameplay that can be enjoyed by both adults and kids. Brilliant level design, great replay value, gaming doesn't get any better than this on the PS4. However hopefully next time, they can include online multiplayer.

4.5 / 5.0 - FIFA 14
Dec 14, 2013

Compared to the PS3 and Xbox 360 release, FIFA on the PlayStation 4 is a whole new ball game and even though EA have tweaked some of the gameplay modes, it is for the better and this version is definitely superior in terms of gameplay, controls and graphics.

4.8 / 5.0 - Bravely Default
Dec 16, 2013

In conclusion, Bravely Default is quite an engaging game that successfully merges old school mechanics with modern gaming. For 2013, it is easily the best RPG of the year that will keep fans of this genre extremely happy as they join these characters in their fight for freedom.

3.8 / 5.0 - Knack
Dec 28, 2013

Knack is definitely a walk down memory lane and ironically the old school gaming mechanics used by Japan Studio work quite well on the PS4. However for a next-gen title, there is something lacking in the game and although the graphics do look nice, I was expecting a little more "wow" when it comes to the graphical abilities of this next-gen console, including some whacky new gameplay modes. However even though Knack didn't deliver on these two categories, there is something uniquely refreshing about this game that is quite addictive and very enjoyable, provided you don't get caught in a bout of controller rage.

Kill Zone Shadow Fall is a very enjoyable first person shooter on the PlayStation 4 that really showcases the power of this next-gen console with some fun gameplay tweaks. Graphically, it's one of the best games on this console at the moment and features a very strong single player and online experience. I love the inclusion of OWL into the gameplay, especially with the new DualShock 4 Controller. Sure, there are a few inconsistencies here and there which also includes some very difficult places in the game but overall, it's a must have game for first person shooter fans!

Never a huge fan of the episodic give you bits and pieces of the game over months and months is almost too excruciating. TellTale Games is just lucky that they do the source material proud. The wait is worth it, just not easy.

Personally, I think this is one of the best games on the console at the moment and the developers should be commended for not only taking the series to a new level but successfully rebooting the franchise for the 21st century and still paying homage to what came before it.
