Tomb Raider Remastered I-III is more of an updated version of the main games rather than a fully remastered one. Apart from the new modern control which still struggles to keep up with today's standards, there isn't anything new to the game. While that may be good for the old fans of the series, it will create a struggle for new players and therefore not be able to enjoy some of the best exploration games out there.
Helldivers 2 is a lot of fun, assuming you can get into a match to actually play it with other people. If you're not interested in the co-op aspect of the game, then it might be a tough sell. You can technically play solo, while still being online, but there are no bots to assist, and the difficulty curve is largely designed to be tackled by multiple people. I can't guarantee the game would be anywhere near as enjoyable played like this.
Persona 3 Reload hits the remake sweet spot, honoring its roots with a stunning visual upgrade and fun new content, making it a must-play for veterans and newcomers alike.
The payday after a heist is boring... unless you're a Turnip Boy!
Baffling business decisions aside, Infinite Wealth is another stellar entry in the Like a Dragon series.
Another Code: Recollection brings together a pair of stone cold cult classics Switch owners wont want to miss.
The Last Soldier of the Ming Dynasty is a broken game filled with good but unnourished ideas. From the environmental design to simple movement animation seems clunky and unpolished all the way. If the combat of the game wasn't good enough, there wouldn't be much of a reason to keep playing the game.
War Hospital is an interesting take on the hospital management scenario. It offers up some unique challenges and has some genuinely difficult choices throughout while nailing the tone. Gameplay can get a little repetitive, at least early on there's not a huge number of different tasks to complete to keep it varied and interesting, but with all that said, I enjoyed War Hospital for the most part. Aside from a few instances of audio dropping, seemingly at random, it was a bug-free experience that ran well for the vast majority of my time with it. This isn't going to be for everyone, even those interested in this genre, but it's worth a look nonetheless.
The Last of Us Part II Remastered is a solid upgrade to an otherwise already fantastic game.
Fun 2.5D platforming, combo-based combat and clever puzzles wrapped in a highly polished, content-filled package. A must-play adventure.
Asterix and Obelix Slap Them All 2 may not be the longest of games or the deepest of games, however it does pack a lot of fun into the package. Is this game on the same level as Streets of Rage 4? No but what it does it does well and I would recommend it to fans of the franchise and people looking for a chilled out Co-op game to play. With its short length (most complete in about 4-6 hours, it also does not overstay its welcome.
Tunic is a charming and challenging adventure that celebrates gaming's more obtuse age
Paleo Pines is a simple but effective farming sim with a fantastic hook.
7th Guest VR is a nice surprise, a remake of a cult classic, that out shines the original in almost every way.
Overall DQM: The Dark Prince is a fine and serviceable game that would be a perfect pick up for any Dragon Quest fan. Also fans of games like Pokemon or Yokai watch may get a kick out of the gameplay, but do not expect a deeper battle system like those games. Other than that I would find it hard to recommend to a casual player especially if performance is not patched. I personally hope this sells well enough that we see future games in this story get a western English release!
Turok 3 is a blast for both shooter fans and anyone interested in games history.
Idiosyncratic, compelling and creative, Whateverland is a one trip this stranger in strange land would heartily recommend.
I'm conflicted about Raccoo Venture. On the one hand, it's a very pleasant entry into an underserved genre, at least from a presentation standpoint, and it runs great across a wide variety of hardware, including the Steam Deck. There's a huge variety of things to collect and unlock, and levels will no doubt require several playthroughs. On the other hand, I found it frustrating to play more often than not, in part because of this. Ultimately I found myself not enjoying it as much as I would have liked, but if you're a fan of this type of platformer then it might be worth your time.
So if you're a Baldur's Gate 3 fan hankering for another expansive CRPG adventure, your first glance may put you off Rogue Trader. But if you temper your expectations, and give it some time to grow on you, you'll find a lot to love. And if you're a Warhammer 40k fan hoping for some grim dark adventuring among the stars, you'll love it all the more.
The Invincible is a beautiful, mesmerising and contemplative adventure that fans of retrofuturism and hard sci fi wont want to miss.
