6.8 / 10.0 - Lost Sphear
Feb 5, 2018

Lost Sphere plays with a lot of tropes of a beloved genre, but doesn't quite make the most of them. The story feels uninspired and it is backed by characters who that are not worth getting invested in. The redeeming factor of the game is a fleshed out combat system that has a ton of options and combinations, making it adapt easily to any playstyle.

A solid experience with a few problems that hold it back from genuine greatness. Great artwork and soundtrack are key features while localization issues and cheesy dialogue can take you out of the fantasy somewhat.

Overall Ni No Kuni 2: The Revenant Kingdom is a great RPG. It looks beautiful, combat is satisfying and, as a bonus, the higgledies are cute. Surely it’s one the best RPGs of 2018 so far. It can be too easy in places, which might turn off hardcore fans, yet its world and atmosphere are good enough to make up for it.

7.5 / 10.0 - A Way Out
Mar 31, 2018

While the controls aren't the most polished and character animations are laughable, the story takes players on a wonderful ride. Hazelight Studios has done a top-notch job breaking the traditional norms of splitscreen gaming and co-op play in general. A Way Out might not be discussed to much come the end of the year, but it is still worth finding six hours of your life to give to the game.

6.8 / 10.0 - Far Cry 5
Apr 15, 2018

Far Cry 5 can best be described as inconsistent. At times, the game feels stale by sticking too close to the tired formula the series has been criticized for, and a disappointing main questline isn’t doing it any favors. However, the game is far from lifeless, with a ton of fun to be had. Whether it is helping the citizens of Hope County with side missions or exploring the countryside, Far Cry 5 has moments of greatness. In the end, Far Cry 5 feels too inconsistent and hopefully future titles in the series can learn from this game’s mistakes.

[Overall score is based on a score of the entire game - base game included] Torna: The Golden Country is a fine conclusion to an already great game - the amount of depth it adds makes the game feel like an entirely new adventure in the Alrest we've come to know and love. Adding new battle features, an excellent new score from Yasunori Mitsuda, and developing characters to meet the necessary endpoints for the base game to proceed, Xenoblade 2 is a masterpiece in building a credible, enjoyable world. It's an absolute recommendation for any Switch owner. 9/5/10

A must play for this generation, Spider-Man really feels like a lot of love and attention from Insomniac Games went into its production. The gameplay is always fun and will take players fond of Spider-Man II, Ultimate Spider-Man, and the other widely beloved titles on a nostalgic trip while giving them a completely new and perfectly paced story to enjoy. The developer's interpretation of the hero whose story we've seen redone so much in recent memory is a breath of fresh air for such a well-regarded character in geek culture.
