Despite interesting concepts and a clever interface, In Other Waters’ simplicity holds it back.
Sand Land is primarily a story-driven base-building game with vehicle exploration elements. While quests and storyline add enjoyment, the game’s main focus feels like a grind due to repetitive dialogues and similar tasks. Despite this, it offers a somewhat enjoyable experience for those who appreciate abundant side quests and repetition.
Tell Me Your Story is a delightful adventure filled with heart, nostalgia, and captivating puzzles. Whether you’re a fan of immersive storytelling or enjoy solving challenging puzzles, this game offers an unforgettable experience that will leave a lasting impression
Solasta: Crown of the Magister is undoubtedly a love letter to a traditional Dungeons & Dragons tabletop experience. While I’m glad that the game is finally available across all modern platforms, minus the Switch, this game is probably much better enjoyed on PC via Steam than PlayStation 5. The mediocre performance, lack of accessibility features such as increasing text size, and the absence of cross-platform play and local co-op makes the PS5 version a hard recommendation.
Highwater falls short of its lofty ambitions. The story elements and exploration lack depth, failing to evoke any emotional resonance. For those seeking a captivating journey through a sunken city, the game disappoints with its linear progression and limited opportunities for exploration. However, for enthusiasts of turn-based combat intertwined with a modest narrative, Highwater may offer some appeal.
Outcast – A New Beginning holds an undeniable amount of allure despite being an extremely janky and overpriced double-A game. It offers an interesting world with a mix of old-school charm and modern gameplay mechanics. The jetpack traversal is addictive and the weapon modding system is refreshing. However, it’s clear this game will definitely not appeal to everyone, even if you’re a fan of the 1999 original.
In short, Winter Survival is a disappointing and frustrating experience. If you’re looking for a challenging and engaging survival experience, stick with “The Long Dark” and skip what feels like a lackluster imitation at this time. I believe with more polish the game could stand out more and become a better experience, but the building and crafting won’t help win over an already loyal fan base to the genre, and that of The Long Dark.
Overall the game is Decent, but with the amount of years it took to make, we both expected way more from the game. While the game invites players to explore the beautiful but treacherous Indian Ocean during the Golden Age of Piracy, if it weren’t for the Online Servers, this game would likely be one you’d see heavily pirated, just like the Golden Age of Piracy the game is set in.
Nova Hearts: The Spark is a game that truly stands out in the crowd. It’s not just a game, but a celebration of diversity and inclusivity, particularly for the LGBTQ+ community. Nova Hearts: The Spark has the potential to be a captivating and inclusive RPG experience, marred only by its current pacing and repetitive elements. With the anticipation of a full game release, there’s hope that Nova Hearts will evolve into the immersive and engaging experience that its concept promises. Fingers crossed for a more polished and fulfilling adventure in the complete version.
My Little Blood Cult: Let’s Summon Demons beckons players to a crescendo of laughter, terror, and jubilation. It serves as a crucible testing skills, fortune, and sanity alike—a testament to the player’s emergence as a true cult leader with an unwavering following and an imposing, illustrious collection.
Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora boasts a visually striking world and the potential for a captivating narrative. However, the prevalence of bugs, ranging from character customization issues to banshee control problems, significantly diminishes the overall gaming experience. The game feels like a missed opportunity to deliver the next-gen experience it initially touted. Until these issues are adequately addressed, players may find themselves torn between the desire to explore the wonders of Pandora and the frustration of navigating a flawed and glitch-ridden odyssey. The stark resemblance to a reskinned version of the FarCry series adds to the disappointment, highlighting the missed chance for innovation and uniqueness. As a tribute to the beloved movie, the game falls short, failing to capture the magic and allure that made Avatar a cinematic phenomenon. It’s a painful reminder that even the most visually stunning landscapes cannot compensate for a gaming experience riddled with technical issues and a lack of originality.
The Chain Saw Massacre has a lot of potential but the limited licensing, the budget, and content release schedule all severely hamper the potential of the game itself. Compared to a game where you can play as almost every horror icon you can think of, it is very hard to hold your head above water.
Sisters 2: Road to Fame is a game that blends the magic of the comic series with interactive gaming. Its charming and humorous storyline, colorful world, and diverse mini-games make it a perfect choice for gamers of all ages.
Sands of Aura is a mesmerizing journey into a twilight world buried beneath an endless sea of sand. The game’s engaging narrative, challenging combat, and freedom of exploration make it a standout title in the action-adventure genre.
A labor of love, a tribute so grand, Uniting art and philanthropy’s hand, A game that celebrates words and more, For literature’s magic, it truly does soar. Embrace the power of the written line, With this heartfelt gem, in which we dine, “Poems and Codes,” a treasure to hold, Where words and noble causes unfold.
The Elephant Collection is a delightful walk down memory lane with a fresh coat of HD paint and higher-quality sound. If you’re a fan of jmtb02’s classic blue elephant games and appreciate the effort put into their remastering, this collection is a tempting proposition. However, if you’re looking for a whole new herd of gaming experiences, you might want to hold off until the price is as light as an elephant’s footfall during a midnight stroll.
Par for the Dungeon is a refreshing take on the golf game genre. It manages to turn a traditionally sedate sport into a thrilling adventure filled with explosive action and creative problem-solving.
While Wild Card Football isn’t NFL Streets or Backyard Football, it carves its niche in the football gaming world with its own unique flavor. It’s a wild, chaotic, and incredibly entertaining take on the sport, perfectly suited for those who want their football experience to be as intense and electrifying as possible.
VIDEOVERSE is a delightful trip back to the heyday of 90s social media sites and online gaming communities. It impeccably recreates the ambiance of that era, but it ultimately struggles to provide meaningful and lasting engagement. If you’re seeking a brief nostalgia fix and don’t mind the lack of deep gameplay, VIDEOVERSE is worth a look. However, for those looking for a more immersive and compelling gaming experience, it may fall short of expectations.
At the end of the day, Exoprimal is a competent team based dinosaur shooting PVEVP experience that’s just plain dumb fun, and that’s okay. There’s no reason not to give it a try if you are already a subscriber of Xbox Game Pass, but I’d hold off for a sale if you aren’t.
