The best Nintendo game of all time. It's beautiful, charming, mystifying and intense. Motion controls take some getting used to, but in time only enhance the gameplay. There's occasional lag in TV mode so it's recommended to play in Handheld mode for best performance.

Red Dead Redemption II is a mind-boggling technical achievement. There has never been an open world video game crammed full of so much meaningful content, and one in which every facet is polished to such an exceptional degree. The outstanding mission design, consistently brilliant writing, and acting, and superlative long-form storytelling make this Rockstar's best ever game, and the defining game of the generation so far.

All of the positive things in Nier: Automata outweigh the negative. Its story is absurd, yet interesting, its characters feel human despite their mechanical makeup, and it’s all layered with unique gameplay elements that keep it feeling fresh and fun. Automata makes a very strong first impression, and it’s able to carry that weight through its myriad of story arcs and endings.

If you're a hardcore Strategy-RPG fan and have a Switch, Disgaea 5 Complete is a godsend. The amount of content here is incredible and frankly a bit intimidating. The depth series veterans cut their teeth on is fully intact, and the game works perfectly as a portable experience. This is immediately one of the strongest titles for the Switch and sets the standard for what third party support for the system should look like going forward.

Monster Hunter World is a hallmark entry into the storied franchise that will light a fire in the belly of any triumphant Hunter. While there are some excessively rare moments of frustration, each and every aspect of the game culminates in a viscerally satisfying cycle that keeps you coming back for more and more.
