Sniper Elite 3 is an enjoyable time killer, but feels like a rushed game built around a single feature and as such falls woefully short off it's mark.
If you're most interested in a good story, engaging characters and an altogether completely different take on the average War game, you're in luck because Valiant Hearts: The Great War is tailored by folks just like you.
If you have any interest in puzzle games that will bend your mind, you owe it to yourself to check out The Swapper.
Was worth the ~$10 I paid for it, but I'm a big resource management nerd. You have to like the genre, like challenge, and even then, you'll only get so many hours out of this thing.
Mind: Path to Thalamus, is a successful and prevalent piece of work. It bridges a gap between entertainment, gaming and art. It beholds an exhilarating and emotional experience. It challenges your mind without holding your hand and guiding you too blatantly. The rewards are personal, as a player you feel a real sense of accomplishment. The game is marred in some respects, but other than this, Mind: Path to Thalamus is a must have title for any serious gamer.
Buy it. The game doesn't take much time and is very good. There are few reasons not to pick this up.
Infamous: First Light is a very fun standalone DLC that fans of the Infamous series will love despite only being able to use just the neon powers. While it may not do much to move the series forward it adds a great side story, and a surprisingly fun challenge mode.
Dark Souls II: Crown of the Old Iron King is even better than its predecessor. The fact that it's so close to perfection only makes it more painful that they marred such an excellent scenario with an uncharacteristically lazy decision for an optional boss.
If you've never had the chance to experience the Metro series on consoles, this generously packaged bundle will deliver at least three dozens worth of satisfying content for post-apocalyptic-shooter fans. For those who have already traveled to Moscow and back both times, consider making one last trip; 4A Games deserves that much.
Destiny has huge highs and huge lows but unfortunately there isn't much to do after you hit the low level-cap, thus causing the game to lose it's luster really fast. It's a good buy for the promised future Bungie has prepared for it but right now, it's a passable shooter that shoots high but never sticks the landing.
KickBeat is a unique and fun game. Zen Studios has tried their hand at something original and by most accounts, the results are a success. If you're a fan of the Rhythm genre and at least find the concept of beating people up to music intriguing, you'll likely have some fun with this title and get your money's worth.
Forza Horizon 2's best moments happen when you're just in the game for the fun of it and the game practically rewards you for doing just that. This is the best looking racing sim game on the market right now, complete with a giant list of cars, engine pumping races and brilliant customizing options.
Hyrule Warriors is a true crossover, not just a Zelda skin slapped onto a Warriors title. It's not the refined experience you get from The Legend of Zelda, but it's more involved than Dynasty Warriors. It's hack and slash fun that can scale with the player, mindless to skillful.
The Vanishing of Ethan Carter is a game you should experience. I just made an ass of myself writing a review like a bad pulp noir because this game really made me feel like an intrepid pulp detective. I was a little disappointed with the short playthrough, but it had such high quality because it was short. Even then, some of it came apart near the end simply because it's hard to keep such high expectations in tact for so long. Buy it, and do your best not to have the answers spoiled for you.
Natural Doctrine is a punishingly difficult strategy game but if you stick with it, you may just find it to be extremely rewarding.
Should you buy FIFA 15? Yes. This installment has finally made it's stamp on the next generation with a polished and enjoyable game. It's animations, graphics and AI-to-human reaction is a step up to previous drones and zombies. Pacing of matches, however, lack quickness and buoyancy.
Defense Grid 2 is a must for tower defense enthusiasts and even more so those who aren't, with so many customization options for gameplay and the addition of Steam Workshop support, the replay value is phenomenal and one that we'll be visiting for a long time to come.
If you like the idea of taking one of Nintendo's hottest fighting game franchises with you on the go, then this game will do you good. Otherwise, wait on the Wii-U version. Circle pad movement takes some getting used to and can get bothersome if you're used to playing hard and precise. Online mode shatters the game's replay potential.
Alien: Isolation is a terrifying game that looks, sounds, and feels like living in the setting of the classic movie. It may wear out its welcome for some, but there's no denying that it's successful in creating the dread players want from the genre. If you're a fan of horror in any medium, you need to play this game.
The entire time I spent playing Driveclub was time I wish I spent elsewhere.
