70 / 100 - 2Dark
Apr 14, 2017

Despite being a simple game, 2Dark deserves a chance from gamers who love horror titles. However, as it is a game that may not attract a lot of attention, it might be forgotten among other titles of the same genre. From its first seconds to the very end, 2Dark provides players with a spooky environment, interesting story, easy gameplay and a few good scary moments.

Mass Effect: Andromeda is more of Mass Effect, which is both a pro and a con. You can enjoy a lot of improvements to the combat and the story. Even if it lacks innovation, it is interesting enough. However, the quality of the script has too much lows and downs. Besides that, the game drowns itself in technical problems and exposes admiration and a fear of innovation when compared to previous installments, which is a little disappointing.

75 / 100 - Late Shift
Apr 18, 2017

Late Shift is an interactive movie of cinematic quality. Players have the power to decide what the protagonist should do next, shaping the narrative with their decisions and leading to seven possible endings. Every decision you take is shown seamless on screen, without abrupt transitions that may disrupt your immersion. It is an enjoyable thriller, even though some events may happen without so much development, making them hard to believe. For the same price of a DVD release, it is worth a shot.

95 / 100 - Persona 5
Apr 18, 2017

Persona 5 is a game that has met and went above my expectations for it. The main story might not be as great as expected, however, the game amazes us with its individual story arcs, the battle system, soundtrack and its incredible art direction. Persona 5 is one of the best role playing games ever created and one of the best games of the year for the PS3 and PS4 systems.

Not every classic resists through time, especially in videogames. Full Throttle Remaster is a mix between the well preserved with the old atmosphere. While in terms of story, characters and charisma the game itself hasn't aged a single day, its gameplay and visuals often go in the opposite direction, using old 3D effects (including the remastered ones) and mechanics that sometimes don't match the adventure style and become frustrating and badly done. Despite that, Double Fine's restoration is exquisite and brings new life to a 20-year-old game, giving the proper care to sound, models and scenarios, adapting the charisma of the original game to this new generation. The Portuguese subtitles are present, and the jokes were well adapted to the language. It is definitely a remaster made for the fans of the adventure genre and of the creative Tim Schaffer, but it might not be the best starting point for first-time players.Despite this, Double Fine's restoration is exquisite and brings life to a game of over 20 years old, with all the sound, 2D models and scenarios receiving due care by the team, bringing all the charm of the material for a new generation. Definitely a remaster made for adventure fans and the works of creative director Tim Schaffer, but may not be the best starting point for first-time players.

The quality of The Disney Afternoon Collection port could be better, so as the suggested price. However, the six games that were chosen for this compilation are excellent, representing the best of their time. It's a collection suitable for kids and, above all, longtime fans.

Narco Road isn't that bad, but it clearly seems out of purpose to the Ghost Recon series' roots: the tactical combat and stealth mechanics. All of the content is focused on vehicles, which still is more hard to drive than a wagon pulled by a cripple mule. That and its high price make Narco Road completely avoidable.

90 / 100 - Outlast II
Apr 24, 2017

Outlast 2 brings many remarkable improvements concerning graphics and gameplay and keeps the horror, which made the first installment known worldwide. The addition of the inventory menu and the new camera features fit perfectly in the game. Red Barrels repeated the amount of horror, thrilling and scary moments along with an interesting and well developed story, turning Outlast 2 into one of the best horror games of the year.

50 / 100 - The Deer God
Apr 24, 2017

Although beautiful and with an interesting theme, Deer God fails in fundamental parts, like the level design and gameplay. Frustrating, confusing and filled with bugs in every system and mechanics, it's a game with a wasted potential, due to execution problems.

If the goal with making Dragon Quest spin-offs is part of a bigger plan, in order to make the series more popular in the West and get the audience ready for Dragon Quest IX, then Square Enix has been executing this plan brilliantly. Just like Builders, Heroes II is another high quality project. It is a game that fixes several imperfections from the previous installment, delivering a product much more complete and able to entertain for a longer time.

Symphony of the Machine is a zen VR puzzle, more focused on a soothing atmosphere and observation than on intense gameplay. With simple and intuitive controls, and its core mechanic based on manipulation of light, this could be an entry point for non-VR players, as well as a good entertainment for those more experienced. Despite being fun, the game is too short, which is why you should probably wait a price drop to get it.

Telltale's third season of The Walking Dead had a great start, but it's getting worse every new episode. Thicker than Water is the weakest point in the story, bringing an unbalanced and inconsistent narrative. Its climax rests upon Javi's flashback, which reveals more about the relationship with his brother David. Remaining only one more episode to save this season, it's time to question if the series can hold another one, or if Telltale's formula is already saturated.

Sniper Ghost Warrior 3 is not necessarily a bad game. The shooting and platforming mechanics are good. But performance issues, such as bugs that make distant enemies simply vanish, the unreliable and totally corruptible checkpoints and save systems, plus ridiculously long loading screens, along with shallow story and characters with no charisma at all, make Sniper Ghost Warrior 3 a suffering experience.

Shiness: The Lightning Kingdom is an ambitious action RPG, developed by a small indie studio that struggled a lot to make this project happen. There are several references to 90s animes as wells as JRPGs. The combat system is the highlight of the game, a mix of action and traditional fighting games, creating a dynamic environment and fast paced combat. The story ends abruptly, leaving the gamer wanting to know more about it. Despite some technical problems and graphic limitation, this is a game that provides several hours of entertainment and it's worth the purchase, supporting the developer into making sequels of the game.

When talking about gameplay, it's impossible not to compare Little Nightmares to Limbo or Inside. Although similar in that, this platform and horror game from Tarsier Studios delivers an unique atmosphere, inhabited by creatures that cause some discomfort (which is something good in this context, by the way). Its polished design, allied to a functional and intelligent gameplay, make the game an excellent choice to any gamer that might want a macabre and unconventional experience.

80 / 100 - The Silver Case
May 6, 2017

The Silver Case greatest strength lies in keeping the player constantly interested and confused. Many moments of the story will seem absurd, leaving the player wanting to know more. Once the player continues to dwell into the game, mysteries change, new information is discovered and even more absurd things happen, restarting the feeling of complete confusion and interest once again. If you are searching for a highly complex and interesting story, The Silver Case is a great recommendation.

What Remains of Edith Finch grabs the player's attention until the end, to wonder what the hell happened with the Finch family. Along with Edith, the last Finch alive, the player experiences the last moments of various family members, going through different generations. Each memory fills in a tiny gap of the mystery, which, in the end, is not what matters the most. What's really important here are the rich experiences that each moment conveys, by means of the story itself or by the diversity of gameplay mechanics applied on each of them. It's a worthwhile title.

Cosmic Star Heroine overpromised, underdelivered, and yet it still managed to be an interesting game with an unique humor for fans of the genre attracted to the aesthetics of older generations.

79 / 100 - Human: Fall Flat
May 10, 2017

Creative puzzles and real physics make Human Fall Flat quite fun when playing alone and even better in cooperative mode. Some technical problems and bugs don't take the fun factor, but it is noticeable a lack of polishing in gameplay and visuals.

80 / 100 - GNOG
May 11, 2017

GNOG, even though it was made with the PS VR in mind, it's a fun and visually incredible game, even in a flat screen. It's a short yet fun experience, but it's not made for every player.
