So, on a closing note, what do I think of Pokemon Sun and Moon, having played every single entry in the main franchise? All I have to say is that I love Pokemon Sun and Moon, and has now wormed it's way as one of my favourite generations of Pokemon; I look forward to the innovations Game Freak will eventually bring with Generation 8, or even with the Diamond and Pearl remakes that everyone basically know are already confirmed at this point.

9 / 10.0 - Killing Floor 2
Nov 18, 2016

All in all, Killing Floor 2 is an exciting, enjoyable romp that you can pick up for around 30 minutes a time, either alone or with friends, and either feel like an absolute badass, or be challenged out of your wits - The port itself is brilliantly stable, functions extremely well, and feels like a native PS4 game. I just wished that there was only more content baked in to enjoy. For these reasons, I am rating Killing Floor 2 (PS4 Edition) an 9 / 10.

9 / 10 - Nioh
Feb 16, 2017

Nioh is another killer IP that solidifies itself as one of the best in the PS4’s line-up. Team Ninja has redeemed itself by making a game that is not only well thought-out and greatly designed, but also absolutely oozing with charm. I can’t wait to see what Team Ninja makes next after playing this treat of a game.

NieR Automata is a special game, a miracle even that a Yoko Taro game has amazing gameplay that compliments the story. An absolutely amazing story that I still think about after beating and a great amount of replay value. Even though it’s ideal that you do some homework before going into NieR Automata for the best possible experience story wise you can still play it and have a good time no problem. The success of this game could mean more Yoko Taro directed games and even more collaborations with Platinum. Here’s hoping for more in the future.

There are no other games that manage to combine very different universes with as much charm, fun and steadfast game play as the Kingdom hearts series do.

Nintendo have succeeded again at creating an addicting gameplay experience that is just a blast to do with friends. I’ve invited my brother around to just chill and play this game with and it always puts a smile on our faces. Thanks to this being on the Switch I’ve had a lot of opportunity to use the handheld mode (yes one of those places being the toilet). It’s just so exciting to play a HD game like Mario Kart on the train without any sacrifices made towards performance or visuals. Overall this game brings forward the existing formula onto a platform that’s begging for it. I’ve put a ton of use into it and there’s never really anything negative to say towards the actual game itself. It’s always just been the online that Nintendo struggles to improve.

9 / 10 - Pyre
Aug 2, 2017

Pyre completely blew my expectation out of the water as I was not prepared to be so emotionally invested in all of these characters and letting go was even harder. I don’t have any complaints for this game and I can’t wait to start a second playthrough. If you liked Bastion or Transistor then please do yourself a favor and check this one out. It is arguably the best one of those three.

This has been a very enjoyable game to play and strongly recommend a play. Even if you’ve never played a JRPG before like me.

9 / 10.0 - Doom VFR
Dec 31, 2017

The game ranges from 2.5 – 6 hours, depending on if you’re looking to find all of the secrets and collectibles which are on offer. While it is relatively short offering, the game is fun to play as all of the mechanics just work in VR. If you’re looking for VR title to jump into that is oozing with quality and isn’t watered down then DOOM VFR is going to meet your expectations. It’s worth mentioning that this is my first DOOM title which I’ve experienced and I have thoroughly enjoyed my time, so don’t be put off and dive straight in.

Overall this game is everything i wanted from my headset: magic, dragons and sword swinging fun. I am enjoying it so much that I am not noticing it’s minimal flaws. The idea of a 100 hour RPG in VR was slightly daunting but now it’s all i want to play. I think to be able to revamp an old, over played RPG in this way is a massive achievement and I think this will add a lot of value to my PSVR headset.

With all that said, Life Is Strange 2 really is an exciting and emotional adventure that leaves me wanting more. While there’s not too much growth gameplay wise from the last one, DONTNOD have added more ways to have fun and bond with Sean and Daniel. I feel like I’ve bonded with these characters already, and I can expect to see them growing together, and breaking my heart even more over the next few episodes. A truly well done opener episode.

On the surface it’s a silly cartoon game with poop jokes but once you’ve spent some time with it you realise that it’s an RPG with brilliant gameplay and structure.

I’ve presented the best way to view battlefront, as a complete game. If you ignore for a moment any price issues or early investments and simply look at the game now you have a great shooter experience in the Star Wars universe. With a sequel on the way this year coming packaged with a single player story and multiple eras, it’s worth picking up the original/season pass for cheap to get yourself excited and back into Star Wars spirit.

8.5 / 10.0 - Just Cause 3
May 10, 2018

The game is immensely fun. It has heart and soul but also gives the vibe of not caring how stupid it can be; and while the game has a few flaws, none of them cause the game to have a reason not to be played. So if you haven’t done so (If you haven’t already, why not?) go out, get the game, buy a disk, get it from a digital store, play the shit out of it. If you’ve already got the game, keep playing it. Finished it? There’s always the multiplayer mod.

verall, Kingdom Come: Deliverance is a rare instance of a Kickstarter game gone right. It absolutely delivers a worthwhile and truly engaging experience to it’s backers, and does so whilst being not just a fantastic video game, but also a fantastic educational tool as well. Kingdom Come: Deliverance is a very welcome fusion of classic and modern open-world RPGs, and it plays mostly to it’s strengths; it’s the 1400’s time capsule I’ll happily spend 60+ hours immersed in. Yes, there are a number of technical issues still prevalent within the game, however I’m hoping that these will be patched quickly and fully – The tale of Henry is a heartfelt one, and the world of Bohemia certainly feels alive – More-so than many open world RPG’s recently released.

8.5 / 10.0 - The Surge

Whilst it is clear that The Surge is not a perfect Soulsborne adaptation, it introduces enough new features to be a stand out addition to the hardcore action RPG genre that made me feel accomplished at times and utter despair at others.

8.5 / 10.0 - Overwatch
Dec 11, 2016

Overwatch is still an extremely fun, enjoyable package regardless, with regular events, a deep competitive scene, and fun, addicting gameplay, I'm sure that Overwatch is bound to stick around for years to come...Possibly as long as Team Fortress 2, infact.

8.5 / 10.0 - Enter the Gungeon
Jan 8, 2017

All in all, Enter the Gungeon is an enjoyable little indie game in a similar vein to The Binding of Issac, yet is different enough to be set apart from it's counterpart in many ways - The difficulty, the variety, and the god-damn puns are more than enough to satiate any Binding of Issac naysayers, and will keep you challenged for over 30 hours or more! I would rate Enter the Gungeon an 8.5 / 10.
