Mar 13, 2024

The Gold Master Series by Digital Eclipse is one of the best things to ever happen to video games, and when all is said and done, Llamasoft: The Jeff Minter Story may just be its magnum opus.

6 / 10.0 - The Thaumaturge
Mar 13, 2024

The Thaumaturge is the perfect example of a game full of creative ideas, built on an interesting foundation, which is ultimately ruined by very poor execution.

6 / 10.0 - SummerHouse
Mar 8, 2024

While relaxing and pretty, Summerhouse features no progression and very little content. I've built all there is to build.

4 / 10.0 - REVEIL
Mar 7, 2024

Reveil is entirely derivative of other works in the genre with nothing new to add, and if you think that might be enough for you, it's unfortunately not a very good version of all that either.

4 / 10.0 - Berserk Boy
Mar 5, 2024

With elements that clash against each other constantly, Berserk Boy is the sort of experience that seems to never truly find its footing before the player puts the controller down for good.

8 / 10.0 - Pacific Drive
Mar 1, 2024

Pacific Drive will end up as a highlight of 2024 for anyone seeking a fresh experience. Unfortunately, some quirks and genre trappings make it a little less wondrous than the Zone itself.

4 / 10.0 - Ultros
Feb 28, 2024

While Ultros undeniably looks and sounds beautiful, the incredibly tedious gameplay and a time loop gimmick that leads to tiring monotony more than anything else make Ultros fail to be anything more than nice to look at in screenshots.

Ufouria: The Saga 2 charms, almost delights, then falls flat on its feltwork face. The cutest dud of the year.

This eccentric reexamination of games many consider to be the worst of all time is a resounding success. Arzette: The Jewel of Faramore proves that you can find inspiration in all that brings you joy.

9 / 10.0 - Balatro
Feb 19, 2024

To put it in terms as simple as the game itself, Balatro is the best deckbuilding roguelike I've played. And I've played as many as there are cards in a deck (almost).

Bandle Tale is the final game under the Riot Forge banner, but thanks to its lovely soundtrack and a unique focus on resource management coziness, the project goes out with a bang

Incredibly stylish, beautifully violent, wonderfully voice-acted, surprisingly emotional and incredibly enjoyable: Slave Zero X is an absolute indie powerhouse.

Please, Touch The Artwork 2 is a gorgeous hand-painted hidden object puzzler that doesn't overstay its welcome. The puzzles are quite tricky, some punishingly so, and the hint system could use some work, but it's an overall fun experience.

I will play Granblue Fantasy: Relink for many more hours to come. It perfectly scratches that itch of slaying giant beasts to upgrade one of many individual characters to then slay even bigger beasts in this beautifully illustrated steampunk fantasy world.

7 / 10.0 - CLeM
Feb 6, 2024

Although CLeM's story didn't captivate me as much as it could have, this is an enjoyable and challenging puzzle game which will put your skills to the test.
