Haunted Dungeons: Hyakki Castle is a unique exploration RPG on Switch that doesn't live up to its concept.
Unfortunately, despite some great ideas, a lot of the execution falls flat. With some tweaks and patches, some of my issues might be fixed, but as a whole, Skellboy isn’t a journey worth taking.
There's so much potential with Warriors Orochi 4; unfortunately, the latest installment misses the mark on so many of the shots that it takes.
There are many great games on the Nintendo eShop, but unfortunately Shadow Puppeteer is not one of these games.
While not great, it's an enjoyable way to kill some time. It's a nice palette cleanser from all of the AAA games on the market at the moment. If you're into short experiences and casual games that you can have fun with a few minutes at a time, I, Zombie is worth checking out.
For everything Neo Cab gets right, there are a few things I wish the game could have done better.
Fans of the original game and the comic book series will have a lot of fun. There's no denying the impact that Rogue Trooper has had on the modern shooter; the game just didn't leave me with a great impression.
Meroidvania games never get old. Unfortunately, there are plenty of games that do what Alwa's Legacy does, but better. That's not to say that this title from Elden Pixels is bad; it's quite good. The issue is that despite the responsive gameplay, inventive puzzles, and gorgeous pixel art, other games stand out more in the genre. You'll be done with Alwa's Legacy in a few hours, and I suspect most people won't revisit Zoe's adventure. She is a great protagonist placed in a game that doesn't have much staying power once the credits roll. With that being said, fans of the genre will find enjoyment trying to save the land of Alwa from the forces of evil, even if it's somewhat forgettable.
Despite all the great things, you can figure out enemy patterns through repetitive play, the online community is lacking, and unless you have people to play with, the overall experience outstays its welcome after a while. Still, those looking for a unique indie on the Switch will definitely find some fun in Rival Megagun.
My Hero One’s Justice won’t recruit new people to the franchise, but in terms of anime adaptations, this game is faithful to the source material, and that’s all a fan can really ask for.
Axiom Verge is a game that will certainly please fans of the Metroid franchise. The entire experience is an homage to the classic video game that often does the right thing. While there are so many instances of greatness found throughout the 6-7 hour campaign, problems dealing with some of the core features of the genre hinder the overall experience. Backtracking is frustrating, the bosses are simplistic, constantly respawning enemies make for some tedious sections, and the narrative isn't engaging at all. Axiom Verge is sprinkled with fantastic ideas and concepts, but doesn't fully capture the greatness that its capable of.
Mario Tennis Aces has fantastic gameplay held back by barebones content and not much customization. While the Adventure Mode is entertaining and full of unique challenges, the other modes are quite dull.

If you’re looking for an old-school game with modern charm or are interested in a nostalgia-fueled journey, Battlezone Gold Edition is the right game to play.
Friday the 13th: Killer Puzzle is a fun treat for the Halloween season. If you're looking for puzzles, gore, and cute animation, this is a great game for you.
Tesla Vs. Lovecraft is the type of game that someone comes up with, and thinks "this will never work." The premise is ludicrous, and shouldn't end up being a cohesive experience. Fortunately, this top-down shooter is a blast to play. It's fast-paced, hectic, difficult, fun-to-play, and ultimately, rewarding.
Fans of action games and Nintendo Switch owners should go out and buy Fate/Extella: The Umbral Star. It's one of the best third party games currently on the console. I'll definitely be playing this for the foreseeable future.
It's an indie treat that will not only please fans of old-school video games, but also those who want a rewarding challenge.
Skyhill is a game that had me hooked to my Switch from the opening moments. There aren’t any surprises, the enemy varieties are few, and the gameplay is repetitive. But you know what? I had an absolute blast with Skyhill. Its roguelike elements leave plenty to come back to, the unpredictable nature keeps players on edge, and the gameplay is fun.
Pac-Man 99 is destined to become your latest addiction. Whether it's one match or ten matches in the same session, this is a pure pick-up-and-play title. The legendary Pac-Man gameplay is presented with a modern twist that is sure to leave fans happy. While the gameplay mechanics could have been explained better and the offline modes shouldn't have been locked behind a paywall, Pac-Man 99 is a fantastic reason to keep booting up your Switch. It's only been two weeks, and I can't imagine my Switch without Pac-Man 99 installed.
