70 / 100 - My Friend Pedro
Jun 20, 2019

If you eve though that "Max Payne, but in 2D" would be great... Turns out you were right. My Friend Pedro is just that: a ridiculously stylish shooter with the right amount of absurdity to keep you engaged until the end.

Few games have managed to be as good as Symphony of the Night; Bloodstained not only manage to do so, but also refines and improves that same old formula for a new generation, becoming the true spiritual successor of the Castlevania series.

The charm and charisma of The Legend of Zelda, fused with the rhythmic gameplay of Crypt of the Necrodancer, gives life to a hybrid that maintains the essence while also offering a new and fresh take of both games. Cadende of Hyrule is, quite literally, a link between worlds.

80 / 100 - Sea of Solitude
Jul 6, 2019

Trough a world of monsters and fantasy, Sea of Solitude tells a story about real problems that never get enough attention, specially in video games. It's like looking into the soul of another person.

85 / 100 - Death's Gambit
Jul 12, 2019

It may be different to what was initially promised, but Death's Gambit is nevertheless a great game, especially if you are into Dark Souls, Castlevania and Shadow of the Colossus, all mixed and presented in a beautiful 2D art style.

Wolfenstein: Youngblood falls a step behind previous games... Which doesn't mean is bad at all. The formula works as fine as ever, and there are some very welcome changes. You can kill nazis with a friend, too, which means this game freaking rules.

The Legend of Zelda: Link's Awakening is the definitive edition of a classic: a renewal and improvement in every way, but always respectful with the source material, that manages to evoke the same feelings we felt 26 years ago.

85 / 100 - The Surge 2
Sep 24, 2019

The Surge 2 is that kind of game where you clearly notice all it's problems... but you can't stop enjoying anyway. Once you've started slicing and dicing to dress with the limbs of your enemies, you'll have to cut your own hands to put the controller down.

A perfect blend between a platformer and a metroidvania, with a wonderful story, artistic style and soundtrack. If you didn't play the original, Ori and the Blind Forest Definitive Edition on the Nintendo Switch is the best way to experience a truly magical video game.

66 / 100 - Call of Cthulhu

Call of Cthulhu brings to the Nintendo Switch the horror and madness of the game developed by Cyanide a Studio, with a great port that maintains all the ups and downs of the original launch.

A very charming adventure reminiscent of the first PlayStation platformers... In both the good and the bad things. Monkey King: Hero Is Back captures the essence of the film it is based on, and although it is not revolutionary, it manages to be fun until the very end.

75 / 100 - MediEvil
Oct 23, 2019

MediEvil for the PS4 stays true to the original, for better or worse. It has a charm that no game can replicate nowadays, but the gameplay has become stale. Nevertheless, if you have fond memories of the original game, you'll surely feel like a kid being in Sir Daniel bones again.

A MMORPG with an interesting approach but a pretty conventional execution. If you are fan of spells, magic creatures and broomstick flights, Citadel: Forged With Fire is the invitation letter to a magic world you've been waiting for.

With changes both necessary and welcome, along with the usual charm, Pokémon Sword and Shield is convincing. They need a patch on the technical side to shine brighter, but in the Wild Area you can see the future of the franchise.

A pretty decent game, at least for what we were expecting, but it doesn't stand out in any aspect. Fans of the Terminator franchise will enjoy the story, characters and setting, but there are similar and better games in the market right now.

A classic JRPG in the good and the not so good: it has that charm that only this kind of games possess, but things like structure and narrative hasn't aged so well. In any case, if you haven't played the original (or the remake), Star Ocean: First Departure R is a great opportunity to do it.

Dontnod revisits their universe with a narrative-heavy video game filled with difficult choices and supernatural powers. This time, though, they show courage by distancing themselves from the story of the original game and by discussing complicated themes. Complex, political and with a powerful message, everybody should play Life is Strange 2.

A second chance to discover one of the most fresh JRPGs of recent memory. Tokyo Mirage Sessions #FE Encore is pretty much a Persona game with a bit of Fire Emblem here and there, so if you love the genre, you shouldn't miss it... Even if you despise J-POP.
