Far Cry 5 is a game with a great concept and a pretty lousy execution. The game keep the shooting mechanics that made FC3 so great and most of the time explore Montana is wonderful, unfortunately the story is predictable and Joseph Seed isn't nearly as compelling as Vaas or Pagan Min.

Overall though, Far Cry 5 is a great experience. I could list out issues with the game and it's story, but at the end of the day there is one question that needs to be asked, was it fun? My answer to that is a resounding yes

Far Cry 5 is an extremely fun game with an extremely pointless story. As I enjoyed 30 hours of my play time wondering in the beautiful world of the game, I also chased a goal which at the end it didn't even matter.

In general we must say that Ubisoft leaves us a little 'forbidden on the final judgment. On the one hand we have a game that has been able to fascinate thanks to rich and curated settings to detail and well-made and characterized characters, on the other hand we have a narrative that, although engaging, can not take flight as we would like, always remaining in a median area. Unfortunately we find a gameplay already seen that, despite having nothing wrong, ends up being a bit 'too well known. In short, a title that proposes a formula already tasted, which on the one hand has nothing wrong but that on the other fails to renew itself and therefore ends up being beautiful, but not exceptional. A game however interesting, full of content and missions that surely will please the faithful.

Far Cry 5 is an amusing game that can keep you busy for a few hours. Yet, it fails to deliver the effect it aims for to the player. The idea behind the story and emphasis on a religious cult is very intriguing, but once you're into the game and discover its relationship with the gameplay, you realize that the story fails to have a dragging effect due to its poor enemy character design and unfocused narrative pacing. Despite these problems, Far Cry 5 is a move forward in the gameplay aspect of the franchise; and by offering a very unique and expansive Open World system, it manages to be one of the best Ubisoft games mechanically.

Far Cry 5 is one of the best works of Ubisoft to date. The developers really kept an ear close to the ground and made changes to the Open World formula where they are needed. I guess they don’t need to be told the definition of insanity. The game appeals to people who are interested in open world games and veterans of the older games in the series.

But with gaming constantly evolving in complexity in both narrative and real-world commentary, Ubisoft's latest adventure feels like an artifact. Trying to say something profound and winds up toothlessly paying lip service, leading to a flat and hollow narrative.

Far Cry 5 never re-invents the wheel throughout its lengthy open-world adventure, but it doesn’t need to. Fans know what to expect from the game, and that’s a thoroughly entertaining action-packed escapade that sends you through stunning environments as you partake in countless chaotic missions. It’s full to the brim with character and never stops being satisfying to play, whilst the freedom offered allows you to approach the game in your own way. I had an absolute blast with Far Cry 5 and, even after finishing the campaign, still have plenty more to see thanks to the infinite possibilities offered by the Far Cry Arcade. Its only real flaw is that it could be a bit easy at times, though at least it didn’t come at the expense of the fun you’ll have overall. Ubisoft have delivered a truly great game in Far Cry 5 and have left me genuinely excited to see where the series goes next.

I know it's redundant for me to say - and I'm directly quoting Jon's Far Cry 4 review here - "That growing Ubisoft problem of over-familiarity rears its ugly head once again". If you've had long enough since FC4 or Primal to hunger for more, or you just really hate religious cults, there are many hours of mindless, gun-nut paradise to enjoy here. But it has to be said that if you've played one, you've kinda played them all.

Far Cry 5 seamlessly fits itself into the franchise. The beautiful open world, an oddly charismatic antagonist and a variety of missions ensure hours of gameplay. Unfortunately, Ubisofts newcomer has a few shortcommings, which show as the game progresses. Re-used character models, searching for sidequests and, most saddening, microtransactions for getting equipment early on, belittle the gaming experience, which can even be enjoiyed in coop. As for tinkerers, Far Cry 5 with its "Arcade" provides a sheer endless amount of maps and quests, which are built by players around the globe or yourself.

All in all, the duo multiplayer experience of Far Cry 5 is fantastic. The aesthetics alone manage to overshadow the frustrating mechanics that the game brings to bear and keep us wanting to play. If you’re looking for a fun, engaging, exciting game to play with a partner, this is definitely one to try out. Let’s hope that the games industry creates more partner play experiences for those who love to game together, but not necessarily in huge piles.

A few things missed the mark that shouldn't have, but I generally got what I expected from Far Cry 5; a fun, open-world game worth the price tag and not to be taken too seriously.

Hope County is a recipe for riot. With thousands of angry cultists to eliminate, a variety of weapons to use against them and wildlife as temperamental as the enemy, Far Cry 5 is one of the most enjoyable instalments of the franchise yet. Only a slightly sparse story slows things down, but it's not enough to detract from a fantastic open world experience.

Far Cry 5 took me by surprise, it’s as big, beautiful and bizarre as 3 or 4, but Far Cry 5 is refined to create my favourite Far Cry experience to date.

Far Cry 5 is walking on some new refreshing paths but is by far not fearless enough to completely reinvent Ubisoft's Far Cry formula. The fresh co-op mode, the reduced HUD, the new companion system and the modified Open World concept extend the well-known gameplay with some interesting facets, but retain the typical Far Cry charm. The co-op mode has to give in to its numerous technical problems and degenerates to a hardly serious, albeit fun addition, which ambitious co-op veterans should give some time to mature. Mission-threatening bugs and Ki dropouts turn out to be massive disruptive factors that put your own frustration tolerance to the test. Nevertheless, Far Cry 5 really entertained us on our 30 hour journey. The exaggerated humor, the charismatic antagonists and the lively game world motivate us enormously, the atmospheric atmosphere contributes its rest to create a charming adventure, which is certainly not a milestone in the history of the series.

Even with plenty of flaws and questionable design decisions, Far Cry 5 has more than enough fun gameplay to make up for it.
