Code Vein Review Summary

StrongCritic Consensus

Unique Anime Action

CODE Vein takes the From Software template and adds its own anime style with some other interesting gameplay additions.

Lacks Polish

CODE Vein unfortunately lacks the same level of polish seen in some of its counterparts.

Performance Issues

Occasional frame drops can spoil the experience.

CODE Vein is an interesting take on the Soulslike genre which introduces anime visuals and a more focused narrative, it's just unfortunate that it falls short of the high expectations set by its contemporaries.

Code Vein adds its own spin to the Souls-like formula, but dull enemy encounters sap its combat of any life.

Ironically for a game about undead vampires, there's a strong pulse and beating heart at Code Vein's core.
