If you're a Walking Dead fan sad the show is on hiatus before its final season debuts next year, you may want to know you can get your zombie fix in the strangest of places: Brawlhalla.

The 2D platform fighting game has had its fair share of crossover characters, including WWE superstars and Lara Croft of Tomb Raider fame, but never before have we seen heroes from The Walking Dead - until now.

Joining the expansive roster next week on October 14 will be Michonne, Rick Grimes, and Daryl Dixon, confirming that these will be the AMC versions of the characters and not the Kirkman comic versions - Daryl isn't in the comics. Their arrival will come alongside two important events.

For one, it's likely no coincidence these characters are joining the game right before Halloween. But secondly, there will be a new horde mode for players to try in the game where players must fend off walkers for as long as they can. A new map comes with the DLC as well, depicting the infamous prison from the comics and seasons 3 and 4 of the AMC series. A new podium and KO effect will also fill out the new attractions in the DLC.

As is usually the case with Brawlhalla add-on characters, they are actually reskins of already available characters. In this case, Michonne will be an Epic Crossover for Koji, Rick Grimes an Epic Crossover for Barraza, and Daryl Dixon an Epic Crossover for Ember.

Brawlhalla remains a free to play brawler with local and online multiplayer modes, but the prices for these characters was not yet revealed, though it should be expected that they're on par with similar characters in the past.
