Star Fox Guard may not be a new main entry in the series, or even a fellow rail shooter, but it’s got heart, effective design, and “one more try” gameplay. It mostly matches it’s dollar value, not for a Nintendo game, but for a game in general.
Landmark has cultivated a welcoming and friendly playerbase.
It plays much like any other great strategy game, and like I said, my biggest problem with it was the news interruptions that added very little to the gameplay and were just painful to watch.
So far, Atlas Reactor has delivered a very enjoyable gaming experience, but it has a long way to go.
Even for those who own the original Mario Kart 8, after re-evaluating my score, I'd still give the game an 8 overall, and I think that says a lot about what's actually in the game. Plus, we have the Splatoon inklings, Zelda's Link, and Animal Crossing characters available altogether now, without being in a Smash Bros game. Really, what more do you want?
Total War Warhammer II is definitely a game I could see myself playing for a very long time and I, in fact, will be going back through to finish the various campaigns. If you're a strategy gamer, or if you want to jump into the Total War arena and have an extra $60 to spare, do yourself a huge favor and pick this up. You're not going to regret it.
Monster Hunter World is, bar none, the best Monster Hunter game to date. Not only did it succeed in delivering a solid hunting game to the new generation of consoles (and the PC at a much later date), it also implemented a series of much-needed quality of life changes that makes the overall experience better for old and new players alike.
Subnautica is a beautiful game, only occasionally marred by sluggishness and the odd, errant bug.
This is one of those games that I constantly go back to when I'm bored or need some excitement. The endless treks into the desert will never get old and there is always something new to discover. Whether I want to spend all of my time building on the beach, or adventure into the wild to take down a boss or a wild animal for fur, there's always something to do. For the best experience, play on an official server with a high population.
It's been more than six years since the last Soulcalibur game released, and it's clear that Bandai Namco took its time to make sure a stellar product was delivered. It's apparent that a huge amount of detail went into creating Soulcalibur VI and it's bursting at the seams with content. If you're looking for a different take on the 3D fighting genre then I heavily recommend this one.
While this is still a Total War game, it definitely feels like something different. The battles are still the same, though they’re more interesting, especially with the vampire faction focusing more on firearms than traditional melee weaponry. Apart from that, however, most of this DLC is about plundering.
While some things could still use slight cleanup, what Mortal Kombat 11 brings to the table is more than hearty – provided you can stomach all the tearing apart these warriors do. If you can take a few fatalities into your system, you’ll love what this game can do for you. NOW FIGHT!
If you can't make your way to a barcade and enjoy the splendor of Killer Queen, then Black is the next obvious choice. Don't let this Killer party slip through your fingers.
Dota 2 has proven itself unshakable in the face of father time. Being originally released in 2005, we can see without a doubt that its foundation has not even begun to crumble. Instead, we have seen nothing but a steady incline of players over 10 years. While this has the capability of creating something of a toxic community, some may prefer saturation over comfort to provide an on-going dynamic experience in difficulty.
One thing is for certain, we really, really hope that the game has a long shelf life. It’s the cartoony, bean-themed, chaotic, assault-course rumble that we never realized our lives were missing.
Having achieved a modicum of security, I decided it was time to pack my bags, unfurl the sails and expand my horizons. Preparation is key – having a good variety of food and potions available, with better options being more complex to create, will dramatically increase your health, stamina, and overall survivability. Better armour and weapons, meanwhile, will greatly increase your effectiveness at fighting. The crafting system is satisfyingly deep, and finding resources to unlock new recipes provides a strong incentive to explore the world.
Has New World resurrected the glory days of the MMO? Not quite yet, but it’s the biggest step to revitalizing the MMORPG genre in a decade. Should Amazon Games make bold and intelligent decisions with their ongoing game development, then they could do it. And even if they can’t do it alone, alongside upcoming games like AoC and Pantheon, a new golden age could soon be upon us. And hey, who are we to turn down a menage-a-trois or an open marriage? It’s 2021, baby.
Deep Rock Galactic is a hugely fun multiplayer romp full of humour, character, dramatic action, and fun foes. It’s made all the better for its excellent voice acting, creative weapon design, and extensive customisation options. It’s a game that the devs have clearly enjoyed making and that makes it all the better for playing.
Lost Ark feels more solid. I had a lot of fun and look forward to returning to the game to explore the many different environments, and to dive into some challenging dungeon content. The sole impediment to me playing further is that my character is on the impermanent PTR. We recommend you check out Lost Ark, and will see you in Arkesia soon!
Pre loot 2.0 Diablo 3 was grindy with the temptation of the gold auction house to remove the need to even play the game. The pre-patch to Reaper of Souls known as Loot 2.0 gave everyone the Diablo 3 it should have been 2 years ago and Reaper of Souls truly is the icing on the cake and well worth the 35 Euros/40 Dollars many times over for the hours you can spend inside this beautiful dungeon crawler!
