6.5 / 10.0 - Sand Land
May 13, 2024

Sand Land is primarily a story-driven base-building game with vehicle exploration elements. While quests and storyline add enjoyment, the game’s main focus feels like a grind due to repetitive dialogues and similar tasks. Despite this, it offers a somewhat enjoyable experience for those who appreciate abundant side quests and repetition.

9 / 10.0 - Manor Lords
May 13, 2024

Manor Lords stands as a shining example of the potential within indie game development that puts many triple A projects to shame. Keep in mind that it’s still in Early Access too, meaning the game will only get better from here on out. It’s an experience that respects its roots in history while providing a platform for strategic creativity. I’ve never been so immersed into a game about building cities and commanding troops, but being the lord of my manor allows me to weave my own stories of medieval life.

While the Souls-like genre, epitomized by titles such as Dark Souls, Elden Ring, and Bloodborne, is renowned for its punishing difficulty and dark atmosphere, it’s not a style that resonates with everyone such as myself. However, Another Crab’s Treasure has managed to take the essence of what makes these games compelling—the intricate combat, the deep lore, and the rewarding sense of accomplishment—and transplant it into a world that’s both more inviting and less stressful. The game’s charming aesthetics, coupled with its environmental storytelling, create an experience that’s engaging without being overwhelming, for someone who typically shies away from the Souls-like genre.

8 / 10.0 - Planet Zoo
Apr 27, 2024

Owning your own zoo and having a high level of control makes the experience immersive. You decide the animals, environment, and attractions that visitors get to experience. Managing the selection process and going through the tutorial is tough on a console. The learning curve is also high; trial-by-fire isn’t a reliable method. But if you ever want to make your own zoo a reality, there’s no game better than this.

The Forgotten Kingdom is yet another iteration of standard DLCs for Remnant 2. It’s not fantastic or groundbreaking, but it’s not bad either. If you’re looking for something more substantial, or like most other players, an entirely new world, you won’t find it here. But if you’re looking for more loot to acquire, puzzles to solve, and baddies to kill, this one will get the job done.

Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles Arcade: Wrath of the Mutants is a game that fails to capture the magic of its source material. It’s a repetitive slog that offers little in the way of entertainment value. Someone explain to me why there charging $40 for this …. Cowabunga? More like Cowabung-NO.

At the end of the day, Dead Island 2 is comfort food, and so is the SoLA expansion. If you loved the base game to just let loose and bash in some zombie skulls, then this is just more of it, for better or for worse. It’s just good old dumb fun at the end of the day.

While you might have a small amount of fun and adventure, exploring dungeons, finding hidden treasure chests, and relying on the luck of d20 rolls to dictate fate, that are all a part of the Pathfinder experience, Pathfinder: Gallowspire Survivors ultimately fall short of its potential, delivering a lackluster experience that fails to capture the essence of the beloved tabletop RPG, while Despite its ambitious scope and promising features, the game ultimately struggles to provide a compelling adventure within the Pathfinder universe, and defiantly is not worth even the low price tag it has, while even on a launch sale of 40% off.

Solasta: Crown of the Magister is undoubtedly a love letter to a traditional Dungeons & Dragons tabletop experience. While I’m glad that the game is finally available across all modern platforms, minus the Switch, this game is probably much better enjoyed on PC via Steam than PlayStation 5. The mediocre performance, lack of accessibility features such as increasing text size, and the absence of cross-platform play and local co-op makes the PS5 version a hard recommendation.
