6 / 10.0 - Road 96: Mile 0
Apr 7, 2023

I enjoy this world, and returning for one more adventure was a short but worthwhile adventure. However, if I play another game with any of these characters next, it better be post-Road 96.

Have a Nice Death has solid slashing combat, 2D roguelike levels, with a great story. Although the levels are very similar, the story, challenging gameplay, great complimentary music, and industrialist main character will keep players coming back for more.

9 / 10.0 - Moss
Mar 29, 2023

There's little to dislike about Quill and Moss outside of how short it is, especially now that the technical complaints are cleared up. This is a beautiful entry into a VR series that'll hopefully have more than just one sequel, and Quill is a wonderful character who deserves more players to get to know her.

For fans of the Bayonetta franchise, there's a lot to love here, even if it's not the type of game you're used to playing. But it's the newcomers and fresh faces to the world of Cereza/Bayonetta, witches, demons and magical powers that Bayonetta Origins: Cereza and the Lost Demon is primed to impress the most.

8.5 / 10.0 - One Piece Odyssey
Mar 29, 2023

While One Piece Odessey might not be for everyone, it had its hooks on me. The gameplay is fun but can sometimes be repetitive, and there are times when I wanted more variety, but the story was solid, and that's what kept me coming back.

10 / 10.0 - Dredge

Dredge successfully blends a Lovecraftian fishing adventure RPG with a gorgeous vibrant art design and a subtle and powerful piano-led score.

8 / 10.0 - Storyteller

Storyteller left me wanting more, which complements the strength of its gameplay formula and is helped by solid polish in the visual and audio departments.

Resident Evil 4 Remake continues the trend of fantastic experiences that Capcom are delivering for the franchise. Every element has been looked at with detail and brought forward to become a modern-day classic, just as it was in 2004.

There's not much to Zombieland: Headshot Fever Reloaded, but there's more than enough content here to fulfil fans of lightgun-inspired shooters.

8.5 / 10.0 - Demeo
Mar 15, 2023

As someone from across the world explained to me the other night as we played, they just loved that they could get the combat experience of D&D without having the full-time commitment of the entire campaign. A sentiment that a lot of us with day jobs can get behind.

As a certified #cutie game, it's hard to vote against playing Kirby’s Return to Dream Land Deluxe when it will make anyone with a heart smile.

There is an extended on-rails boat scene you can put non-gamers into to experience the headset, but as far as pushing the medium forward and being a showcase for the future of virtual reality, Horizon Call of the Mountain is just a pretty game with the core of a last-generation VR game.

9 / 10 - Returnal
Mar 3, 2023

Returnal is the latest of Sony's first-party games finding a new audience on PC, and it feels right at home on the platform through a solid port. The fluid and swift movement is a pleasure to control with a keyboard and mouse, and the port coming without some of the teething problems of the PS5 release makes Returnal an approachable proposition.

9 / 10.0 - Wild Hearts
Feb 25, 2023

A quick shortlist for one of my favourite games so far in 2023, Wild Hearts is a thrilling action RPG that's bound to scratch an itch for Monster Hunter fans while providing something alternative for fans of the genre.

4.5 / 10.0 - Atomic Heart
Feb 22, 2023

And no matter how good it looks, it doesn't make up for the bland characters, the annoying world design with a useless map I didn't mention, the immature and ridiculous script, the odd sexism and the sense that you're playing something you'll likely regret.

6 / 10.0 - Wanted: Dead
Feb 14, 2023

There are flashes of potential that could have elevated Wanted Dead to be greater than the sum of its parts, but these flashes are drowned out by its mission to be a throwback experience complete with jank.

6 / 10.0 - Forspoken

Deep underneath, there's plenty of interesting lore and directions a potential sequel could go if Square Enix were to make one. However, for the 12-14 hours I played, making my way through the core missions and a handful of additional content, the combat kept me engaged amidst moments of the story, making me want to nod off.

I was surprised at just how tightly the narrative in A Space for the Unbound grabbed me, and it's sure to be either one of the indie hits of 2023 or one of the most under-played gems.
