7 / 10.0 - Goat Simulator 3
Jan 5, 2023

Overall, Goat Simulator 3 is a game aimed at chaos and fun, while not perfect, it hits those beats often. Much like its predecessor, there is a lot to discover that needs to be added to the mini-map, while the missions are fun, and there is always more to do.

Between the story sequences, the army management and tactical combat were equally as meaty and enjoyable, challenging you to defeat all comers. Overall, Tactics Ogre Reborn is a recovered gem from the past that I'm glad to have discovered.

8.5 / 10.0 - Sonic Frontiers
Dec 2, 2022

Sonic Frontiers is great, but it could have used some polish in some areas. In saying that, I thoroughly enjoyed my time with Sonic Frontiers. The game feels like almost anyone could enjoy it. Even as a lapsed fan, I could follow the story and feel for each of the characters, and most of their plights were relatable.

7 / 10.0 - Evil West
Nov 29, 2022

The story here is dumb fun, with some purposely hammy and equally terrible dialogue, but I enjoyed it for what it was, as it felt like a bad B-movie. Combat gets somewhat repetitive with the length, as eventually, you enter a pool of the same but stronger enemies and the level design is, as stated, a simple throwback.

If you aren't familiar with the franchise, you would find yourself a little lost and wondering where it all went wrong, but overall my son enjoyed playing Miraculous: Rise of the Sphinx and constantly declared, "I love this game!"

The love and care that has clearly been put into this and the previous title can be felt the whole way through. I am so glad that the PC fan base can now experience the charm this game offers.

Shatter Remastered Deluxe is an excellent brick-breaking game. Considering its over ten years old, it is a testament to how good the core gameplay is that a simple visual and audio makeover could make it feel fresh again. If you're a fan of the genre, it's a must-play, especially if you never got a chance to experience it on PS3.

While there may be some who enjoy this, most who play this hoping to get another taste of what they got with Tales of the Borderlands will feel let down

7.5 / 10.0 - The Chant
Nov 7, 2022

A horror game that frequently treads into the action-adventure territory, The Chant had me engaged with its awkward but functional combat, interesting visual design and lore. However, it was never able to consistently build and maintain tension throughout the game.

God of War Ragnarok is one of the most incredible action-adventure games of all time. It also surpasses the previous game in every possible way by telling a heartfelt, human story surrounded by some of the most breathtaking action and battles in any video game I’ve played.

7 / 10.0 - Paradise Marsh
Oct 31, 2022

Paradise Marsh was a great game to chill out with; I finished in just under two hours, but I could see spending more time exploring the world to discover all it has to give.

7.5 / 10.0 - Gotham Knights
Oct 20, 2022

Gotham Knights took on the high expectation of its audience by taking on the Court of Owls storyline. Though it flounders under the weight throughout the playtime, it is still a great Batman experience that does explore the loss of Batman and what it means for the world going forward.

Unfortunately, I didn't enjoy my time and cannot recommend it as a must-play. I am unsure if anime fans might find more enjoyment in being able to interact with the world, but it is hard for me to see that as the saving grace for this game.

Return to Monkey Island shows there is a place for this style of game in the gaming world of 2022 for both new players and returning ones, Point and click games do not have to be pocking stuffed puzzlers, but they still can be at the same time. At its heart, the Witt and humour of the series shine through no matter how you are experiencing the game, and it is in this versatility the work of Ron Gilbert and Terrible Toybox shines through indeed.

7 / 10.0 - Wylde Flowers
Sep 20, 2022

Wylde Flowers' comforting ambience will surely be a hit amongst its target audience. It sticks to the Farming Sim/RPG formula in tried and true gameplay structure and focuses on the relationships amongst the citizens of Fairhaven and fully voiced characters to set it apart from similar games.

The immense detail and story and overall thought that has been put into this game is astonishing. I am not ashamed to admit I am at over twenty playthroughs of this game, and I will most likely play through it again before the release of Spider-Man 2. I am glad that this title has been made available to the PC community and that it has been given new life in another space. The mod community has been having a great deal of fun placing their spins on both severe and funny suits, and I cannot wait to see more people enjoying it. In the words of Jeff Winger, the premise alone is priceless. The guy has the powers and strength of a spider."

The difficulty in these games challenged me in a way I hadn't known for a long time. If it wasn't for the additional options, I might not have had the chance to get through a couple of these games. In stating this, I had more fun playing these games with a second player. The collection has been put together with care and ran well on the PS5, and while these games are fun, I prefer the newer TMNT: Shredders Revenge for its updated features and playability over these aging titles.

5 / 10.0 - We Are OFK
Aug 18, 2022

There are many things I liked about We Are OFK, from the characters to the music, the art direction and the thematic ideas that hit, and as a project, I am in love with the idea. I can only hope there's more of this, music, game and add some merch to come. But the disconnect the text messages caused me felt like being brutally ripped out of the experience; I began to roll my eyes when a phone icon popped up on the screen.

8 / 10.0 - Live A Live
Aug 17, 2022

Live a Live is an eccentric game that has been brought into the modern gaming landscape not just through its stunning pixel work but also with some modern features that make it a breeze to play through. Its unique structure was intriguing throughout, and the short, self-contained chapters throughout most of the game make for an easy pick-up and play experience.

9.5 / 10.0 - Cult of the Lamb
Aug 11, 2022

I've been keen to play Cult of the Lamb for a long time, and it hasn't disappointed me. The art design, audio and gameplay loop remain satisfying, while the concepts and the base building create enough things to do to round out the gameplay so that I never felt bored. The team at Massive Monster should be proud of their achievements, and I cannot wait to see what they create next.
