Black Ops Cold War is a game living under Modern Warfare's shadow, with its identity not really going beyond being a clone of last year's release and a lack of content keeping the experience thin. The zombies mode shines in this game, and there is huge potential there if the developers treat it right, but the same cannot be said for the rest of the game.
What starts as an inoffensively dull game turns into a repetitive and frustrating mess filled with technical issues, terrible combat, and an uninteresting story.
The game has unique features and a color palette that is pleasing to the eyes, but none of it can mask the clunky and oftentimes frustrating strategy gameplay. I find this game hard to recommend as a strategy game, and I certainly wouldn't consider it a John Wick game.
While there is something to be said about the game’s combat and Arabian setting, the frustrating amount of traps and repetitive gameplay makes City of Brass hard to play, and the lack of upgrades makes it hard to come back.
While the combat is stylish and its open-world is fun to explore, Biomutant is a game that bit off more than it could chew, leaving a lot of parts feeling half-baked.
The high level of customization and decent combat doesn't quite save Conglomerate 451 from being repetitive and dull.
While the game can be fun at times, Overkill's The Walking Dead is bogged down by technical issues, repetitive side content, and the inability to have fun while playing solo.
I don't exactly know what is different between current Sea of Thieves and day one Sea of Thieves, but the issues I have with the current version of this game are similar to the ones other had back in early 2018. The missions are dull, money is meaningless, and any positive experience with this game feels fleeting.
When the conditions are right, Cannon Brawl is an enjoyable take on artillery games that offers fast-paced strategic fun. That fun only lasts so long though, and I don't think this will be the next game for you and your friends to huddle around the TV and play for hours on-end.
It isn't going to be the best or most memorable one-of-these you'll ever play, but Days Gone on the PC is a solid checkbox open-world zombie experience to sink a few dozen hours into.
This isometric stealth game doesn't bring anything new to the stealth genre table, and it struggles with believability, but it's still a fun and charming little game worth checking out.
Much like Remnant, Chronos: Before the Ashes skirts the edges of being a Souls-like and offers something unique. The combat is too slow and the aging mechanic doesn't do enough, but its mix of puzzles and combat delivers a fun experience I got hooked on.
Borderlands 3 is a fun game, and I think it nails the combat better than the other games in the series. Unfortunately, the fun combat couldn't distract from the game's constantly annoying humor and bland co-op action.
Summer in Mara is a fun blend of farming and adventure while also housing a surprisingly lovable cast of characters. The game suffers from being too large in scale, but that didn't stop me from having an enjoyable time with the game.
Despite being a familiar game in a sea of others, Zombie Army 4: Dead War is still a fun zombie shooter with a wide variety of zombie types and fun levels.
Gears 5 offers plenty of content to enjoy, but nothing to fall in love with. In the end, I found myself at a crossroads with the game modes, with each road having enough bumps to keep myself from travelling on with the game.
Even though this game is familiar, World War Z offers a solid co-op action experience with its impressive zombie hordes and class abilities. It is a Left 4 Dead game with reason to go back.
RICO combines rogue-lite elements and slow motion action to create a satisfying gameplay loop that can be revisited time and time again.
The best parts of Get Even can be found in its gripping story and incredible soundtrack. Just don't go in expecting good gameplay.
It isn't the best shooter ever, but Bulletstorm offers fun arcade FPS action with a surprising amount of creativity to the combat. Now if only I could creatively kill its annoying dialogue...
