I had a feeling that Curse of the Moon would be a title that I was going to enjoy, but I wasn’t aware of how much I would immediately love this game.
Falcon Age is far from perfect but its charming interactions with the falcon and the fairly easy to understand gameplay makes it an easy recommendation for PSVR owners.
Team Sonic Racing won’t stand out as a masterclass entry in the genre but it’s a solid game that many Sonic fans and racing nuts will likely enjoy.
I think Isolation could use a sequel. There are plenty of great ideas and the presentation was mostly on point.
When it comes to putting a score to this dark beauty of a game, I find Hollow Knight to be as close to perfection as some of the greatest games of all time, standing tall upon the shoulders of genre-defining titles, tall enough to leave its own legacy.
198X is a grounded tale of growing up lost and finding salvation in an unlikely place. Arcade games are the anchor for this character and for many players out there this story rings true.
River City Girls may have been full of walls for me but I can still wholeheartedly recommend it to just about any player, especially those fond of the beat-em-up genre. Just be warned that going without help is a lot tougher than expected.
Praise aside, I don’t think Death Stranding is a game that I will repeatedly come back to...That said, I am immensely grateful for playing it and I am much more motivated now to play Kojima’s colorful history, especially the Metal Gear Solid series.
Resident Evil 2 is one of the best horror games I’ve ever played.
Standing tall as a bearer of the indie game banner, Shovel Knight is one of the best games of this generation with immense value for players.
Psikyo Shooting Stars Alpha is a great launch point for shoot-em-up and arcade fans.
Outer Wilds is a great piece of work, one absolutely deserving of titles and high praise.
I don’t find Mighty Switch Force! as appealing as Shantae or River City Girls but they are fun, simple, yet challenging platformers that some players may really enjoy.
These games have introduced me to a new world of gaming that I am excited to explore further.
Sydney Hunter and the Curse of the Mayan has some areas that could use more consideration and improvement but it is a challenge worth attempting...Those who enjoy retro design should at least give it a try.
I greatly enjoyed my time with Skellboy...
Kingdom Hearts III Re: Mind, while featuring some fun stuff and some of the better fights the series has to offer, is a minor addition to the base game set at a premium price. I would only recommend it to people who love Kingdom Hearts enough to experience and overcome everything a Kingdom Hearts game has to offer.
Despite my fear of the Impossible Lair, I absolutely love this game.
As it stands, Doom Eternal is a hallmark in the first-person shooter genre that effectively adds complexity and polish to the stellar groundwork set by the previous entry. It will be hard to top the achievements of Doom Eternal.
I find Resident Evil 3 2020 to be a harder recommendation than its predecessor. Maybe I’ll feel different as the game expands with more content or if I find Resistance to be compelling but for now, it feels like an amazing weekend rental rather than a must-buy title.
