4 / 10.0 - Babylon's Fall
Mar 7, 2022

Babylon's Fall is simply a nonsensical title that conceptually could have worked and at times seems to, but then the predatory and currency-locked design comes into play and ruins the whole experience, if not completely nullifies it. This is literally a "Pay 2 Enjoy" title, meaning that in order to enjoy the best armour, aesthetics and rewards the only way is to either pay or agree not to do so and be fobbed off with armour recycled from Final Fantasy XIV (and at this point we'd recommend spending the money on that). We don't know how long Babylon's Fall will go on, but the only way to at least save the game will be to remove the premium shop completely and put its rewards in as drops for major tasks, then maybe Platinum's Games' tried-and-true rhythm will keep a loyal niche.

5 / 10.0 - Foamstars
Feb 9, 2024

It is difficult to promote Foamstars: what was pitched as an innovative "party shooter" turned out to be a game as a service that has little new to offer. The online modes currently available are few and not always accessible, while the gameplay is so chaotic and cumbersome that two games are enough to instill the desire to put down the controller.

The Lord of the Rings: Gollum is a confusing and unfocused experience. The game tries to be an adventure title with stealth mechanics but attempts to mix in a variety of other features that simply do not go together very well. This is a pity because Daedalic Entertainment tried, but failed to build a Gollum faithful to Tolkien's works, placing him in a narrative context that struggles to pick up pace, being really interesting only in the first few hours of play. Between a visual impact anchored to two generations ago and various technical issues, Nacon's ambitious video game is unfortunately a bitter disappointment that does not offer the proper value to the prestigious Lord of the Rings license.

5 / 10.0 - Wanted: Dead
Feb 14, 2023

Initially Wanted: Dead seems to pull it off, when one still appreciates its pleasurable imagery and is becoming familiar with its gameplay layout. It takes very little, however, for big and small wrinkles to come up, again and again, making the experience unsatisfying, frustrating, repetitive. Something is saved, of Soleil's game, but absolutely not enough to make it even vaguely enjoyable.

5 / 10.0 - Dolmen
May 10, 2022

Dolmen is a souls-like experience that doesn't leave its mark and stumbles over a whole series of problems that make it only half a successful experience.

The DLC The Amorous Adventures of Bold Sir Hans Capon has a name almost longer than its own duration. It is a short paid content, forgettable and without any real novelty. He snatches a laugh at the ending, but we do not recommend buying it just for that. At most, if you are really passionate about Kingdom Come: Deliverance, expect a substantial discount.

This is the Police 2 is a sequel that tries to experiment on its mistakes, but the situation only gets worse. With a superfine narrative, but at times long and boring, and a management in disarray that unnecessarily complicates a strategic one that would have excellent bases to entertain. In this version for Nintendo Switch are added microscopic and almost incomprehensible texts in portable mode, no touchscreen and some uncertainty about the use of commands. Fingers crossed for the next chapter (if they decide to do it!).

6 / 10.0 - Mato Anomalies
Mar 18, 2023

Mato Anomalies features different genres and does not always succeed in making them a worthwhile addition. First of all, it is a good visual novel, with a story that is a bit confusing at times, but interesting enough to intrigue you and make you want to delve deeper into its diverse cast of characters.

6 / 10.0 - Bright Memory
Nov 13, 2020

The prologue to Bright Memory: Infinite arrives on Xbox Series X to represent one of the few exclusive experiences available at launch. We are aware that we cannot evaluate this experiment in the same way as a triple A production but we have noticed too many critical issues to be able to go beyond a stretched sufficiency.

6.5 / 10.0 - Skull and Bones
Mar 20, 2024

Skull and Bones is not only not the "quadruple A" promised by Ubisoft, nor is it a game capable of bringing to life the pirate dream of all those who have ever dreamed of being able to command a black-flagged ship.

It is evident that Metal Gear Solid Master Collection Vol. 1 suffers on the one hand but satisfies on the other. Regarding the first aspect, we are faced with a huge problem: it is a lazy job, which brought Konami not too many hours of work, except for the choice of proposing artwork in the background of the 4:3 Metal Gear Solid; otherwise it was a matter of retrieving products already in the publisher's possession and putting them into a single collection

Super Crazy Rhythm Castle is a definitely original rhythm game: instead of choosing which songs to play from a song list, you will immerse yourself in a real music adventure, alone or together with a team of up to 4 players. Its strength is precisely in being able to come up with something innovative, but it is also its downfall.

As much as Modern Warfare 3's online can be considered the glue that single-handedly holds an entire game together and succeeds in entertaining and sucking us in just as the original MW2 did, the heavy recycling of content between maps that have very little connection to the campaign and a spate of ideas taken flat out from Warzone and DMZ is not enough to justify placing this chapter among the annual full-price releases

6.5 / 10.0 - Redfall
May 2, 2023

Like the experiments that threw Redfall into chaos, Arkane Austin's new title is a half-baked mess. What made Arkane famous emerges only partially between incredible game atmospheres and narrative that is never dull and able to draw you into its mysteries. What creaks is a rather bland open world form made up of activities without bite that do not quite do justice to the care with which the game world is instead created. A really underwhelming artificial intelligence deadens the shooter phases and does not stimulate the search for different approaches to deal with the situations in front of us. Redfall is also playable alone, but the playable characters are clearly designed to act in groups and that is the best way to take advantage of all the synergies.

Warhammer 40,000 Darktide is still not the production that miniatures game enthusiasts and Vermintide lovers were expecting. In what is the core of the gameplay experience, the slaughter of hordes of enemies, it works just fine, and diving into that riot of death leads to a macabre ecstasy. Lacking, however, is an adequate structure to support the ludics: too slender progression, poor variety of missions, questionable solutions implemented in the two stores.

6.5 / 10.0 - Evil West
Nov 23, 2022

Evil West is a little more than adequate video game that uses virtually nothing of its (good) premise to stand out or stand out from the welter of competitors of which the market is full. The strong point, namely the audience's fascination with the Wild West, is not deepened, except with clichés and clichés that are largely outdated

Fire Pro Wrestling World wants to bring to PC and PS4 the definitive experience of this historic franchise. Unfortunately it is a title that is not aimed at all lovers of fighting games, but only towards those who appreciate the dynamics and style designed by Human Entertainment almost thirty years ago.

6.5 / 10.0 - ELEX II
Feb 28, 2022

Elex II was a promise. The promise to take the good things that had been done previously and to re-propose them improved and purged of their defects. Honestly, the choice made, that is to re-present a huge product in its branches, is not a happy one. Piranha Bytes doesn't have the means to ape more expensive brands. But it does have the means and the ability to tell and describe stories and worlds that are pulsating with life, realistic and plausible. In all honesty, it would be enough to take a few steps backwards - simplifying the combat, renouncing a few hundred objects and environments - to offer a reduced but homogeneous videogame. The reasons for this grade, sufficient but nothing more, are therefore to be attributed to the lack of farsightedness of a production that, after years in this sense, cannot but realise its limits and should finally aim at its strong points, which are there and make Elex II at least playable.

Mount & Blade 2: Bannerlord is a well-crafted, but too shallow blend of genres. While the 3D combat is realistic and immersive, the strategic aspects of the title lack detail, making the campaign monotonous and leading the player to repeat the same actions almost mechanically. You will have hours of fun if you like to take part in first-person shoot-outs, otherwise you might get bored quickly. In any case, I recommend playing the title in the PC version and not on consoles.
