Joe Morgan's Reviews
Transistor is a beautiful game with a fun, addictive progression and combat systems.
Some of the content is too coarse for younger audiences, but shooter fans who invest the time in this long (12-15 hour) single-player game will surely enjoy the experience.
If you're looking for a great story, Murdered will keep you going but there's very little here to warrant a full-priced purchase.
Entwined is a beautiful, addictive experience gamers on PlayStation platforms are sure to enjoy.
Rise of the Dark Spark is a fun but flawed third-person shooter that ultimately fails to live up to its lineage.
Sacred 3 is a surprisingly fun hack-and-slash game. It offers little to no personal customization or investment, but you can't deny that conquering waves of demons is satisfying
Diablo III: Reaper of Souls features some dark themes and extreme gore and violence. However, folks who venture into Sanctuary will enjoy one of the most well-polished action-RPGs on consoles to date.
Over-hyped beyond reason, Destiny is a fun shooter with some serious flaws. Despite those flaws, there's still a ton of fun to be had. Temper your expectations, grab some friends, and settle in for a good time.
Styx: Master of Shadows is a fun stealth action game with a few issues. Fans of the genre shouldn't pass it up.
Alien: Isolation is a fun, tense game fans of the genre are sure to enjoy. Hide. Run. Survive.
Sunset Overdrive is a top-notch entry to the open-world genre. With a fantastic aesthetic and gameplay mechanics, Insomniac Games has delivered one of the strongest games in the Xbox One's library.
Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare feels like a great shot in the arm for a series that was starting to get stale.
If you're looking for a good story-driven game, this probably isn't for you.
The Order: 1886 delivers a beautifully realized and delivered science fiction story that everyone should experience. Sadly, it provides no reason to ever go back after the credits roll.
Ori and the Blind Forest is a beautiful Metroid-style game with great storytelling, fun mechanics, and top notch gameplay. A must-buy for every Xbox One owner looking to do more than shoot stuff.
I am Bread is an odd indie game that will have you manipulating your environment to light your world on fire. Well designed levels and a subtle but entertaining story round out a worthwhile physics game.
This is an excellent fighter with a solid narrative and a lot of variety to offer. The carnage is *beyond* overwhelming though.
Transformer's Devastation is a fun beat 'em up that properly utilizes nostalgia to enhance the experience. It's hampered by a mediocre-to-boring story and repetitive environments, though.
Siege reminds players that Tom Clancy's original game series can still earn its right to fight alongside other modern competitive shooters.
Xenoblade Chronicles X is a great open-world RPG with plenty of to see and do. Unfortunately, this game requires dozens of hours of commitment and a slew of side questing to complete the narrative.
