Lovecraft meets John Ford and they duke it out in a turn-based western-style shootout. Cowboys and demons for a game with a strong narrative bent and solid, if a little too by-the-numbers, tactical combat.

Not the prettiest game, not the easiest game, not even the most elegantly designed game. But a great game nonetheless. Painful fun for the whole family.

The "Medieval Viking Invasion" vibes are strong in this one. A good piece of DLC: doesn't offer too much new content but it's cheap for what it offers. And the foundations are as solid as ever.

Short campaign, steep price, but this homeworld-in-the-desert has style in spades, and a solid, albeit simple, RTS core.

Deep, atmospheric and a blast to play. Best XCOM ever, period.

Like the first one, just a bit better: more units, more enemies, new tactical situations. Choices and consequences are soul-crushing as ever, but it's all part of the fun.

This ain't your grandfather's space strategy game. Stellaris opens up a whole new perspective on galactic conquest, and in doing so sets the bar for the genre for years to come.

This is one epic game. A great fantasy battle circus, the new CA title is quite the visual experience, while remaining tactically engaging.

A great game with a couple of fatal flaws, mainly in the AI department. Patches to the rescue!

Faithful to the Worms tradition, the new Team 17 title, with its bizarre new weapons and vehicles, manages to be a fun experience even in the crafting mechanics aren't the most user friendly out there.

It lacks some features that where present in the old Master of Orion II, and many of the bold ideas Stellaris and Endless Legend introduced to the genre. A playable, fun game, with great production value, but not a game that will stand the test of time.

Maybe, Dawn of War 3 isn't the greatest entry in the saga, but it's damn close. A great RTS in its own rights, it lacks a bit of content and some gameplay adjustments to truly climb above its storied predecessors.

Endless Space 2 isn't just a very solid 4X game. It's also quite the narrative experience. Every faction has a story to tell, and every game will see you playing to their strengths while learning that story.

As far as space simulators go, Starpoint Gemini Warlords boasts a lot of good things: a wide selection of ships, trading, combat, RPG and strategy elements. While the control system can be overwhelming, true fans of the genre will look past that and truly enjoy the experience.

On console, Aven Colony, with its simplicity and colorful graphics, could be a good introduction to the genre. On PC, a much stronger tradition of city builders highlights sono annoying flaws.

StarCraft Remastered is the old StarCraft with a new coat of paint. This is what the fans wanted, this is what Blizzard delivered. The core gameplay remains insanely good, but a lot of mechanics and UI limitations show the age of the game, especially if compared to StarCraft II.

An old-school expansion pack, improving the game all-around in ways no simple DLC could have achieved. XCOM 2 was great to begin with, and the new content brings it straight to the Olympus of turn-based strategy games.

Solid combat mechanics, but a little too light on content to justify full price.

A worthy sequel, visually gorgeous and strategically engaging, that could have been even better if CA embraced a stronger drive to innovation.

While being a decent game, SpellForce 3 sadly fails in being more than the sum of its part, and offers nothing truly memorable.
