If you are looking for a great mini-golf game, I’m afraid that Golf Club: Wasteland on gameplay alone won’t cut it. Having said that, Radio Nostalgia from Mars and the pretty art style more than justify you taking a swing at this game.
The concept of the game has a good use of gold and radio to balance the vision, hearing and direct communications. But what they devs may have left behind were the fact that the gamers would have learn upon some of the past memes and history. Thus the game’s idea has already dug a deep trap of itself which made the story a little bland. If it’s just for pure entertainment, non of these would matter but the message they wanted to convey in regards to thinking twice about human beings and their natural habitat has definitely drilled past our minds.

There’s no shortage of story in this golf adventure around a post-apocalyptic wasteland.
Golf Club: Wasteland is a strangely compelling experience. I found the gameplay frustrating, yet your protagonist isn’t playing golf through the ruins of a post-apocalyptic Earth to “win”, and to get the most from this game neither should you.
A challenging golf game set in the ruins of a future Earth, Golf Club Wasteland takes this classic sport to new, imaginative heights.
It's worth noting that the audio is on a loop and you will eventually run out of new content from the radio station, but it's an incredibly effective oral storytelling mechanic. Seeing as this is Demagog Studio's first outing, I am very keen to see how they grow as a developer. There is some amazing talent and creativity on display, and should all the pieces fall into place, barring ecological catastrophe, their next title would be one to watch out "fore.
Golf Club Wasteland feels like a casual golf game meets a walking simulator. Story mode is a relatively Zen-like trip round if you prefer or you can choose to up the challenge if you fancy. Then there’s that memorable radio commentary that will certainly keep players engaged to the end. Overall, the approach is simply not offering much variety to the golf formula. But one thing I took from the experience is even in the most desolate of wastelands, there are still moments for you to take stock and reflect on life. What you do next I guess is up to you.
Golf Club: Wasteland is a good game but not because of the quality of its actual golfing experience. Putting balls into holes is serviceable. There are some well-designed levels but there are also some frustrating ones. Don’t feel any guilt if you play on Story mode and get as much of the narrative as you can, without bothering with hazards or limits.
Telling a cautionary tale about society isn't usually the goal of an arcade sport game, but that's exactly what Golf Club Wasteland does. That it's also fun to play is a nice bonus, providing an oddly relaxing and challenging experience for puzzle and platforming fans alike.
Well, here we are, my first ever Xbox review and what an uncanny game to choose to start with. Golf Club Wasteland is an arcade-style golf game much like many others but its atmosphere, sound design and bleak narrative elevate it above other games of this ilk.
Despite a short run time and relatively straightforward golf mechanics, Golf Club Wasteland wows with its world, vibrant graphical direction and amusingly sarcastic and critical story notes. I haven’t played anything quite like it this year, but I’m absolutely thrilled that I gave it a go as it’s cemented its place as one of my favourite little titles. If the idea of a beautifully desolate round of golf on a decimated Earth appeals to you, grab your 9-iron and get hitting, you won’t regret it.
Golf Club: Wasteland is a fantastic golf game with an amazing sound track, but geez did it tilt me at times. It’s easy to chill out and play with a good level of challenging pars for the 35 holes across the game. However the controls are frustratingly inconsistent, especially on console.
Overall, Golf Club: Wasteland is a relaxing yet challenging game of golf. It’s a game that will test your physics knowledge as well as critical thinking. It’s a game that lets you be swept away by its visuals and be lost in its music. It’s a game for all those players out there looking for a unique golfing experience.
Golf Club: Wasteland is a masterpiece in the art of telling a big story in a tiny game. Ruins of our Earth, devastated by climate change, speak to the player through the music and the chats of the great Radio Nostalgia and the ironic neon signs of Alphaville. In the meanwhile, the silent Charlie from Mars plays an intense and challenging arcade golf game, where you can never tell what happens next. It's rare to find so much greatness in a small indie game.

Golf Club: Wasteland is a story made of stories, of messages left by the strongly representative scenography and the testimonies of credible characters without a face. Despite the fact that the production visibly struggles on the gameplay front due to a tenor of challenge that tends to never take off, it must be recognized that the demagog studio proposal can adequately counterbalance the lack of playful depth with a well-kept staging.

Golf Club Wasteland has an excellent premise with how it combined golf with the world and overall story. However, when the novelty ended, the frustrations just kept piling on top of each other because of the inefficient and broken controls.
This is one of those titles where the name of the game may lead you astray, though I will admit that it is generally accurate...
Golf Club: Wasteland is one of the best games I’ve played this year. I loved everything about this game from its refined art style to its soundtrack. It’s peculiar alchemy of meditative sport and pointed sentimentality is a sight to behold.
