Although Legacy of the Dark Knight did not reinvent the genre of “brick-built” games, it stands as undeniable proof of the decades of experience and brilliance that TT Games represents. This game is not merely a love letter to Batman, but to Batman’s legacy as well.

LEGO Batman: Legacy of the Dark Knights feels like the ultimate Batman fan game disguised as a LEGO title. TT Games somehow managed to capture everything that makes Batman such an iconic character, from the darker Gotham atmosphere and Arkham-inspired combat, right through to the humour, gadgets, and the ridiculous amount of fan service packed into every corner of the game. As someone who grew up obsessed with Batman, this honestly felt like stepping into a playable tribute to the Dark Knight’s entire legacy.

LEGO Batman: Legacy of the Dark Knight is everything a Batman fan would want. It honours the character, his rogue gallery, allies, and world with success. Whatever your favourite iteration of the Caped Crusader is, you can play as them. As a LEGO game, it is easily the most advanced and impressive we've seen yet. I haven't had this much fun with a LEGO game in a long, long time, and here I am, over the moon, elated by how coherent and fleshed-out Legacy of the Dark Knight is.

After spending several hours in the city, it’s hard not to appreciate the amount of care that went into this adventure. Between the impressive visual quality, the particularly successful sound design, and the huge amount of content available outside the main missions, the game constantly makes you want to keep exploring the city. Every district hides a secret, a reference, or something new to unlock, and that’s exactly what makes the experience so enjoyable over time.

LEGO Batman: El Legado del Caballero Oscuro is the best LEGO video game to date. The evolution of its combat and puzzle-solving mechanics, along with a more than substantial improvement to its open world, make this a title that truly transcends the classic formula we have experienced so far. TT Games has done a stellar job of turning this brick-built world into a universe with its own distinct personality.

Iconic scenes covered, ultra present humor (you only have to see how Harvey Dent becomes Double Face), staged almost cinematic and solid gameplay but which does not stand out from the Rocksteady production, LEGO Batman: The Legacy of the Black Knight will bring a lot of pleasure even if the sharp collectivity side and the immensity of the tasks to be accomplished will be able to tire.

Batman makes a triumphant return to video games, paying homage to the legacy of previous titles while incorporating all the humor and charisma of LEGO that the experienced Traveller's Tales developers have accustomed us to. A gift for all fans of one of the most important superheroes in pop culture.

Legacy of The Dark Knight is the ultimate love letter to everything Batman, from the original comics to the films and everything else surrounding this cornerstone of the DC universe, serving as a spiritual successor to the original Arkhamverse adventures. With an adventure spanning various eras, packed with jokes and references that pay homage to the original material, a superbly realised Gotham City brimming with content, and the return of Arkham-style combat—which I’d missed terribly—this title is a safe bet for anyone seeking quality action, whether playing solo or with friends, for both LEGO fans and Batman fans alike.

There are a couple of Arkham games better than this, but also a couple that are worse.

A strong open-world Gotham and trademark Lego slapstick humour powers a fantastic plastic parody of Batman’s greatest hits.

Legacy of The Dark Knight has set a new plastic mold for TT Games, and is easily the studio’s best work since the golden age of Batman, Indiana Jones, Star Wars, and Marvel Super Heroes.

It's a no-holds-barred approach to the revered character, and though there are spots where the execution could have been better, TT Games included everything I could have asked for in one wholly entertaining package. The Dark Knight has a storied legacy, and this adventure does it justice.

It's still simple, but not quite as simple, it's bursting with even more secrets, and it's another playful take on a mythology that I love. It's the most fun I've had with a Lego game since 2005, and a template for how Lego games can rebuild into something greater, piece by piece.

LEGO Batman: Legacy of the Dark Knight is extremely ambitious in scope compared to previous LEGO/mega-IP combos, and it succeeds tremendously in nearly everything it has set out to accomplish.

Because being a LEGO game is both an advantage and a disadvantage: they have the sense of humor and the freedom to do whatever they want without any fans batting an eye at the canon, but at the same time, they're very restricted on all fronts.

LEGO Batman: Legacy of the Dark Knight is a great experience overall, and will likely find a passionate audience among those who love this series, but it also won’t do much to convert people who simply don’t enjoy the silly simplicity of the genre.
